I Agree on That Note.......But keep in Mind the fact you have a guy who has been with you for 11/12 years What do you do with him???

just let him go? and why? is he not ready to be a head coach?

 

brady is only getting $300k/yr for 3 unless he gets another job first, so max $900k.

bertman's reason for firing brady now doesnt make sense to me. its not reasonable to expect the team to finish the season with a bunch of wins. either bertman needed to appear to be doing something, or the football comment thing. the timing is especially perplexing since bertman also came out to say that he wont contact other coaches/schools til the end of their season.

i dont get the timing. is it to give pierre a shot?

nbaone, a question - is it possible that LSU is just doing something official for Pierre's status as interim HC, given that Brady was originally being allowed to coach Saturday's game? Just seems hard to believe that they would move this quickly to hire him given public statements and info from other sources.

As for ESPN, screw them. (And Bruce Pearl too, that self serving SOB.) They don't know squat if they're presenting this as "firing a coach that just went to the FF". There are a large number of criteria to rank a coach's success - overall wins and losses, program consistency in competing for division & conference championships, attendance, academic success - and Brady wasn't doing too well in ANY of them.

 

As for the timing of the decision, I don't know but suspect that it was driven largely by the fact that there look to be a couple of other BCS conf schools already searching for a coach (S. Carolina & Oregon St., and of course there will be others). As UNC showed in hiring Butch Davis, if you want a hot candidate you better be ready to strike fast. The conspiracy theorist take on this would be that Bertman wanted to have a hand in the next hire while he still has a hand.

 

Not sure to the 1st part of your-asking!!..... of why and what they are doing? To me it's just not adding up! :huh::huh::huh: (quickly to hire him) Not sure when his start date will be...... or if that would happen... just what the scope is from a inside Tip!! But like I said I could be wrong!....:bball::bball::bball:
