Seems there may be a tiger skinning on tv Saturday. Basketball - LSU - Ole Miss, I sure wish they would not put that on tv. Its gonna be brutal!!
I agree. I think it will be so bad that once again the reason that LSU fans are so vocal agains Ole Miss will be evident. I suspect Ole Miss will pour it on and I don't blame them. There is just no valid reason for LSU basketball to be so inept. Saban showed us the potential of LSU football and Miles has continued it. There is no good reason that basketball souldn't be successfull every year.
So, LSU loses by 3 to Ole Miss on the road. A closer loss than folks expected? What does that say about the team? Brady's coaching job?
Gumbo, after a 3 point loss to Ole Miss on their court, I'm still looking for the silver lining. Q' Thornton starting to contribute, along with Garrett Green? Marcus and Anthony both having a decent game to get their confidence going a little bit? You look at this team, and you say, this is a team that played Ok State, Arizona State (just upset Arizona), Ole Miss, Villanova, within a handful of points. You just feel bad that Tas', Q', Mason, and Chris Johnson have missed so much PT. It's also a hard deal for Brady--with those players, he's probably right in the thick of things. The difference between a NCAA tourney season and not, is a handful of losses, and some injuries. Not making excuses, just agreeing with you that injuries have really altered this season. An otherwise rebuilding season with some promise, is now struggling to stay out of the cellar of the SEC West. In any case, I think the only thing I'd say to your comment, tho', is that the kid from Marshall was also a Pitino disciple, and a point guard who had played in a final four himself. He was also known as a pretty good recruiter. I think Billy D was on the "fast track." Does LSU have the "know how" to build a championship hoops program? You probably don't give them enough credit. Between Daddy Dale, and a ton of former LSU NBA alum, there's probably a decent search committee that someone could put together. The question still remains whether LSU is committed to this program. Not only in signing up a coach but in revamping PMAC and practice facilities and prioritizing hoops. I think any realistic "plan B" to brady, is spending LESS or around the same amount for an "up and comer". I don't see LSU spending enough to revolutionize the program at this point... More thoughts later. :geaux:
This year is already a bummer because of Injuries & players not contributing but with this group mostly coming back & the new players already signed up for next year I think the future looks bright. LSU will have six players 6ft 9in or taller next year & at least a fair set of guards. Also I guess I should mention that we would not be so short handed this year if Brady could ever keep players from leaving early for whatever reason. I just hope they win enough to be respectible.
Obviously it was the best game we have played in a while which lends hope. Q Thornton has proven that if he had been healthy this team would have won several more games. He made a difference tonight by lending bulk underneath. Nothing would make me happier than for the Tiggers to go on a run and build some momentum for next season. I have defended Brady for years and hate to be wrong about the guy but I have about given up. Maybe if the team gels I won't have to eat crow. We dfinitley had Kennedy sweating midway the second half.
well, im much more hopeful now. not really because of how the OM game went but because QT (his nickname should be Q-tip) is back. i had no idea. last i heard he was out for the season. quite a difference with him in there. mostly, i think randolph played with more energy---i guess he had to bang less. QTs contribution will only become greater as his conditioning improves and the team learns how to play with him. you must have a banger to compete in the SEC. about the game. martin has been trying to create his shot more and it aint working. catch it and shoot, bro. farrer and green will be solid contributers in future seasons. farrer sees the floor pretty well and makes some good decisions but he lacks confidence. green was in great places several times, but nerves got to him. OM shouldve killed LSU. they have two efficient horses down low---they took too many jumpers---and LSU shot poor from the line. disappointed in marcus. he's much better than just taking 21 ft shots. id like to see more plays for him to drive. team will win several SEC games but NIT is still not likely.
