With Warren, Morgan, and Graham on the team, you have to like our chances of grabbing every rebound for the next 4 years. ;)

Edit: That is, when Warren joins LSU, of course.

Not to get a head of ourselves here, but landing Morgan and potentially Warren in this class (perhaps to Deeks' dismay) continues IMO solidifying the Brady era at Tigertown (and of course, how he does this season will as well). The two things you've got to do as a college coach is 1. recruit and 2. coach those recruits.

What's underrated in all of Brady's rap is his recruiting. Yes, we may have lost one and done Greg Monroe, but there must be something there when we can go into Dallas, Texas and snag Anthony Randolph in '06 and now J'Mison Morgan in '07. We also go into Atlanta and grab two very solid D-I prospects. Picking up a top 30 and a top 75 player from cities other than Baton Rouge this year should be noted. In the case of Morgan, LSU went head to head with the likes of UCLA and Kansas, in HOOPS, and won and Delwan Graham and Dennis Henry had SEC and ACC teams offering. As long as the Tigers are getting competitive talent, they are going to be competitive.

What does Morgan think of his choice and why LSU?

“I kind of felt it when I got down there, and then when I went on the rest of my visits and they weren’t like the first one, it just stood out in my mind,” Morgan said.

The Tigers recent success with post players played a big role in Morgan’s decision. He said earlier in the recruiting process that recent LSU standouts Brandon Bass, Tyrus Thomas and Glen Davis were proof of how well the Tigers coaches develop big men for the NBA.

“I wanted to choose a place I felt comfortable at and I thought LSU was a better fit for me than the others,” Morgan said. “I have a great relationship with the coaches and the team, and mainly I just felt comfortable there.

“They’re a tight team. Nobody can break them apart. They work hard, look like they want to get better and nobody can come in and break up their team.”

What I hope all the other top LA kids realize is that LSU is building something in their hoops program. And, perhaps, LSU should be the first destination for these kids. Storm Warren may be realizing that now. Brandon Mitchell realized that early. Perhaps kids like Langston Galloway need to see that in the future.

You know, I thought that, but since the bulk of this season happens after January 2008 I thought it was at least worth mentioning :hihi:

I think I have to take a look at it WITH Morgan and Warren in it... :) And for sake of reality, let's remove the walk-ons... In '08-'09, you have this (with projected starters in bold?):

PG:lol:
    Garrett Temple SR 6-6 185
    Bo Spencer SO 6-1 175

SG:lol:
    Marcus Thornton SR 6-4 190
    Terry Martin SR 6-6 200
    Alex Farrer JR 6-5 190

SF:lol:
    Tasmin Mitchell SR 6-7 230
    Delwan Graham FR 6-7 215

PF:lol:
    Anthony Randolph SO 6-11 210
    Chris Johnson SR 6-11 200
Dennis Harris FR 6-10 200 (MAYBE RS)
    Storm Warren FR 6'8 215

C:lol:
    Quintin Thornton SR 6-8 225
    Garrett Green FR 6-10 220
    J'Mison Morgan FR 6'10 275

This is a real balanced team, and perhaps the most balanced (i.e., lots of good perimeter players with experience to go with height and talent down low) in Brady's time here.

What's a little scary tho' is what happens in '09-'10. We then have a real experience factor with essentially our entire backcourt and swing forward leaving. What is apparent last year and this is that Brady and Butch went after help "right away" (signing the Thorntons) and help down low. I worry about a very inexperienced backcourt in '09-'10, with right now Tommy Mason Griffin and Brandon Mitchell, to come in to go with Bo Spencer and Alex Farrer.

I'd love to sign Storm Warren here in '07-08 don't get me wrong, but I kinda wish the Tigers were in on a good high school SG right now.

    I hope y'all are right.

But from where I sit, counting 2008-09 roster spots and getting excited about "that team" seems like an exercise in futility given the historic turnover rate of Brady's program. I'd put the over/under at 3 of those players listed not being here. If Randolph has a good year he could be 1 and done. QT has no ties to the area and with Morgan coming in it wouldn't surprise me if he were to leave. Then there's always the surprise player transferring, getting kicked off, etc. For one reason or another, most OOS players have not had a great career under Brady. Hope Randolph changes that trend and Morgan/Graham/Harris continue it.
