That has a IMPACT ON THE OVERALL DEALS THAT ARE ON THE TABLE.... HANG IN THERE LSU!! FOR NOW JUST KEEP A LOW PROFILE FOR NOW!! THEN SHOCK WORLD WITH GM AND JM
Greg Monroe is visiting next weekend. His five are LSU, Georgetown (our main competition, according to Scarborough [or whatever his name is]), Duke, Texas, and some other school that won't get him.
I don't disagree with you that J'Mison may be a Kansas lean, due to the D.Arthur connection, but pay attention to this statement about Kansas' track record with big men. First remember that many of the Kansas "big men" playing in the game today, like Nick Collison, Scott Pollard, Raef Lafrentz (not exactly names that jump out at you as big men supreme) were Roy Williams recruits. If you look at Bill Self's record recruiting and developing big men at Kansas, I'd argue it actually isn't that great. He's basically had Wayne Simien, who was a McD AA, drafted in the late first round with the Heat (I don't really count Julian Wright this past year who was more of a tweener, and I don't think he's that developed). Self is admittedly a great recruiter, and Kansas sort of recruits for itself, but I don't believe he's a great game coach or developer of talent--especially big men. When you look at where Brady and staff have picked their big men, like Tyrus (essentially not even a high school top 150) and Jabari Smith, and made them draft picks, and taken solid well recruited prospects, Big Baby, Swift and Bass and got them to the NBA (early second round to lottery), I'd argue that LSU's relevant "track record" with big men is just as, if not stronger, than Kansas. Liked the Greg Monroe news... because he's not visiting with Kansas. NBAOne... I'm with you man! Let's see what the wheeling and dealing brings! :geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. BE A FAN.
Just keep in mind The signing was Nov 9 Now!! They have Moved That Date To Nov 14 Until 21 Nov The Timeline for GM and JM from what I'm being told is VERY CLOSE!! Every GM in The NBA will be at LSU just to watch the team to work-out!! Yes would we all agree? That GM is ONE AND DONE?? Morgan would love to Be EXPOSE as well at the same time.... NO BETTER PLACE THEN  "READ MY LIPS" THE STATE OF LA. WOULD LOVE TO KEEP GM AT HOME- HIS MOTHER IS VERY HANDS ON!! HIS AAU COACH IS VERY HANDS ON!! SHE WOULD NOT WANT FOR 0% DO YOU GET IT????
I think I get what you're saying, and it doesn't sound very legal. Some quotes from Greg about his final five: http://blog.nola.com/tpsports/2007/09/monroe_narrows_choices_to_five.html
Found out today there is so many folks around Morgan it's unreal!!! Also NOV 2 is his B'day That's the day he tell's the world where he's going! To go to school in 2008- LSU-is geting ready to ROLL OUT THE RED CARPET FOR GM THIS WEEKEND Lot's of stuff going on this weekend down there... He will have a crew of (7) with him THAT'S A LOT OF "FRONT ROW SEAT" FOR THE BIG GAME......
Terrance Henry committed to Ole Miss. I'm kind of worried at what they've got going on over there for the future. Plus, their last 3 commitments are from Louisiana. 1. Malcolm White - heavily compared to Tyrus Thomas. 2. Brandon Wilson - 7ft wingspan SG 3. Terrance Henry - Enough said, really. Plus, they have a guy with a 40 inch vert. and a great 3pt shooting stroke. We have some competition.
why do you think we take a two star player from georgia & let a 4 star player from our own state get away... Something don't add up ???
Two star from scout.com But a three star player from Rivals.com Thomas was a three star player as well DON'T FORGET THAT.... DON'T LET THE STARS FOOL YOU BUDDY..... THAT PLAYER HAD OVER 12 MAJOR SCHOOL AFTER HIM AND GA. TECH IS TRY TO GET HIM STILL TODAY!!
I had posted this earlier in the year, b/c I saw the trend...now they got Terrance Henry. Ole Miss with good young coach Kennedy seems to "know its place" in recruiting and is, as has been pointed out, picking off LA kids that may not be Butch and Brady's top priorities. Why is this? Well, I think it's a few things. First, when LSU got to the final four, it got the impression that it could recruit nationally. After losing out on guys like D.Arthur and Scottie Reynolds (despite getting "out of the blue" interest), I don't know if they really changed their strategy. The idea was still to go after the best recruits in Cali, TX, GA, etc. Second, you've got a divide in LA on Brady and staff--you have to like his style of play and his tough-nosed demeanor and you have to have the "mindset" to deal with that (not sure if some of these kids do... when you look at some of the top guys who have left LA (e.g., to go to Baylor and Ole Miss) they chose to play for younger, more "laid back" coaches... that may be good or bad for them long term). What Brady and staff do, however, is take that work and mold these players into something--that's what the folks that commit to him believe (and, if you look at his track record, Dupree, Swift, T-Train, Big Baby, Bass, j. Smith, etc., it's believable). Lastly, there's just a supply and demand. If you're a Brandon Wilson, Malcolm White or Terrance Henry (and I think there's maybe a little bit of a different dynamic in hoops even than football--less players more attention), you want to feel the love and you want to play. If you're Terrance Henry, and you see LSU pursuing 5 star guys at your position, are you going to go to LSU? If you're Malcolm White (remember, he's a 2007 commit), do you want to really compete with Anthony Randolph for PT? It's all about playing time and getting a chance to showcase yourself for that run to the NBA. If you're guaranteed playing time at Ole Miss, why not? Now, I have to also point out that all of these kids were recruited by LSU. Unless there are some behind the scenes discussions that we're not privy to, all of them could have come here. So, I'm inclined to say, I'm not alarmed or surprised with Henry's news, but I can see why he doesn't want to play second fiddle to Monroe and Morgan. Perhaps his committing is signs of things to come, or perhaps, like Storm Warren, it's a sign of "scare tactics" by Drew and Kennedy. I do however, think it's a concern long-term that we need to be able to sign the best players out of LA. The best players, if they truly are the best, need to feel like they have scholarships to come in and compete. But, I also believe that in order for LSU to challenge nationally, it's got to sign some kids out of TX, MS, AL, FL and GA where it can to develop a broader recruiting platform. I think that D. Graham is probably a better get than some of the guys we lost to Ole Miss. Harris a project, but at 6'10", according to nbaOne he's the second coming ... let's wait and see... :hihi: :geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. BE A FAN.
