Not even Rivals top 15O This is a big joke!!! just ask some D-1 SCHOOLS "NOT ME" HOW MANY ALL MC DONALDS PLAYERS ARE PLAYING IN THE NBA RIGHT Now?????????
No worries about stars on this end, nbaone. I've been on the Dennis Harris bandwagon since I heard of him about 2.5 months ago. Can't wait to see him on the court. Tell both he and Delwan (assuming you have contact with them) that we're looking forward to their arrival in '08, and wish them the best during their senior seasons.
Just got off the phone with Delwan and his Mother! They are AT LSU NOW!! On there way out to Dinner haveing a good Time......
Hopefully they're eating at TJ Ribs, and not the crap they serve at Walk-Ons. Anyway - nbaone, Pierre Jordan isn't at LSU right now is he? A Rivals article today said he and Delwan would be in Baton Rouge.
Same here. You know I can't wait to see Chris Johnson: The Sequel. Hell, Harris will probably be my favorite player after Chris graduates.
NbaOne... I appreciate your passion for Atlanta hoops and your inside scoop. I guess my only point was... most prognosticators don't put Harris and Graham on "light the world on fire" recruit list. That's not to say that they aren't, but I haven't seen film on either of them. And, until I see them on the court, I won't yet pronounce them game changers. Am I estactic that we've got two Atlanta Celtics committed, that Coach Dollar is making inroads for LSU, and we've got a nice class building for a potential run at Monroe and Morgan other others? ABSOLUTELY. But, to your points above, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Yes, Tyrus was a beast, signed by LSU when it might not have even gotten him... Tyrus had an actual Virginia Tech and Miami offer, I believe. Harris had a published offer from Rice and UCF. Corey Brewer and Harris probably do not have games anything alike. 6'7" swing forward who could clamp down, shoot and drive it to the hoop vs. a 6'10" guy with an outside game? Like I said, I'm waiting to see that tape. Plus, Corey Brewer was a 4-star, #31 on Rivals 150 list in 2004. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. The comparison of Harris also to Chris Johnson is sort of a catch 22. The Laurinburgh PreP institute where Johnson, and Koundjia played was ALSO a powerhouse. Chris was a back-up there as well--and, he still has to prove himself at LSU. As I mentioned before, can Harris gain more weight than Johnson? Will he be able to play in the physical SEC as a big man? If he's on the perimeter, is he really quick enough to play the 3 spot? These are questions that can only be answered in time... it's telling to me though that he knows he wants to redshirt--it says to me that he's aware of his own limitations and is doing the smart thing. Lastly, the comparison to Kevin Durant? Not sure you want to compare Harris to the No. 2 college player in the country last year, who was drafted No.2--who was also a McD AA. KD was slim, but the kid was scary athletic AND skilled and played outside and proved it day in and day out and averaged crazy points in high school. Somehow I don't think that the comparison's that close. Let me say again, that I am very happy about the Harris and Graham commitments. They're good solid pick-ups in the early period that have more of a significance to me, though, in terms of setting the groundwork for the Atlanta pipeline. Graham I think is a very solid kid who will give LSU alot of versatility and he'll play sooner. I'm still not sold on Harris, and will need to be convinced that he can be more than another Chris Johnson. :geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. BE A FAN.
Just wait and see Chris Johnson when he starts this year. That Kent Lowe guy said he looked like a whole new player in Canada, and was trying to dunk on everybody.
Keep us updated on how the visit went, nbaone. Unlike a few of the posters on here, I'm 100% sold on both Harris and Graham. Can't wait for them to arrive in BR next year. Hopefully they can do so with Greg Monroe and J'Mison Morgan as teammates.
