Yeah I thought we had 3. That's great news. Imagine if we had a class like this: Monroe, Henry, Morgan, and Graham. Now add them to Tasmin, Temple, Anthony Randolph, Chris Johnson, and all the rest of those guys that will be Seniors by then. You have to like our chances of going reaaaaaaal far that year. But then next year, we'll be back to step one when everybody leaves for the NBA. Ha.
We're getting an official visit from this guy, no date decided. http://lsu.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=46479
After Warren committed to Baylor, I was just thinking about how our targets are becoming a little clearer. Sure enough, LSU manages to puzzle me. We offered a 2008 PG. Naturally, he's an Atlanta Celtic. http://lsu.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=42628 Scout says he will visit in the 22nd of September. http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=8&c=1&nid=2401369
He may have verbaled but he still has us scheduled for a visit on Sept 22, so anything can happen. imo
Well, the Baylor commitment is a little surprising. Not surprising that he committed but so early, especially when he made the trouble of scheduling official visits. What this says to me, is that Storm wanted to commit to the school that wanted him. It also says to me that he was worried that LSU might be closing in on higher ranked players. Look, this isn't trying to down play losing another decent LA player, but Baylor has had good luck coming into LA picking off decent players by selling "play at Baylor, we want you". They've established a pipeline to LA players, especially those in North LA. I guess these players would rather go to a low-tier Big 12 school and not play for NCAA tournaments and glory. I don't quite get it, but they're getting to play for a likeable young coach, for a team that traditionally is not that talented, in the Big 12. It's hard at this point to be too disappointed in losing Warren, given there are about 5 other frontline players on the LSU board. And, we've done our job by offering the kid and rolling out the visit. LSU by making an offer to Jordan does a couple of things I like. One, get in the habit of signing some PGs every now and then, and two, can't be a coincidence that LSU is making a run at every Atlantic celtic kid--we've got visits coming from Singleton, Graham and Harris.
Gotta tell ya, your optimism is unwavering. It says to me that Terry Martin might not be all that happy at LSU or else this kid, who lives in Terry Martin Sr's house, should have committed to us. I'll give him the benefit of the official visit doubt (and wait on a possible commit from Monroe) before I become 100% negative. Let's not make it seem like Brady advances past the first round on a year-in year out basis. Drew is building a program over there, and he's sure as hell doing it with LA kids. He simply might like Drew better as a person. Now and then? I'm still waiting for Brady to "sign" his second big-time PG (TMG is still only a verbal).
Terry Martin's dad can't force Warren to play for LSU. Last time I checked, athletes were allowed to go to a school that they like.
