So b/c James Tyler was kicked out of school he leaving him alone or did this guy leave Brady alone. I really wanted the 7'1 Center.

    Recruiting tid bit
    6-9, 190, Monroe (La.) Carroll
After making a splash at the Real Deal on the Hill against Renardo Sidney - one of the best prospects in the country - Henry went from a blip on the radar to a clear and present prospect for the high-majors. Alabama, Tennessee, USC, Kansas, Missouri, LSU, Ole Miss and Baylor have offered, according to his high school coach. Kentucky is also apparently charting his progress. So are we. He has a chance to improve even more.
Jerry Meyer on Henry: "In the mold of five-star Anthony Jones, you have to love the way Henry works with the basketball at 6-foot-9. He is long and athletic, and his future position is small forward. A versatile player, he can post up and score as well as put the ball on the floor and attack from the perimeter. His mid-range shot is solid. If he stretches his range to beyond the 3-point arc, he will become a more dangerous player."

I think we should give Hank Thorns a shot and go after Henry. It's hard to say leave Monroe alone but he's said that he's been a Duke fan for a long time and plus it's seems like he's giving more and more schools a chance to recruit him. Problem is if we go after Monroe and goes to a another school we will be left to pick from scraps (it seems like he's going to wait till the last min to commit). But then again it would be murder to not recruit him because he is instate and number 1. Hank Thorns well we just need a point and from everything i've read about him he seems like a guy that we'll see on sportscenter next year and we'll say why didn't we get that guy!

Terrance Henry is feeling Kansas, and Greg Monroe is feeling everyone. I say we go after Brandon Moore, who I hear is just as good as Monroe right now.

And yes, give me Hank Thorns (though I know we aren't going to get him).

Brandon Moore, 6-9, 205, is an athlete who moved to Little Rock (Ark.) following Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. He played at Holy Cross High School prior to Katrina. LSU and Baylor are all over him, and if he stays in Arkansas, the Razorbacks may move on him. He said Sunday while playing in the AAO Top 25 he is undecided on staying in Arkansas or moving back to New Orleans.

This may be better suited for another thread, but I thought I'd post it here too, b/c it's relevant to hoops recruiting.

An article from Rosetta at the Advocate, in the wake of the Rolle departure. It points out something that probably rings true for 2008. I don't completely agree with him that you have to focus in basketball to the "close home" regions, but you can't argue with the results. Rolle, Koundjia, Neltner, Voogd, have all "not panned out" in one way or another (and before we get the anti-brady sentiment of "why did we recruit them in the first place?", Koundjia and Rolle were top 40 type high school kids).

It would seem as though 2008 could be a year where we do "stay home" and I think the staff would be well served reaching out and really getting back to LA. You have to own your state, and much like in football, there are some benefits of just focusing on the so many miles from Baton Rouge theory. In the case of last year this staff may have alienated some players that left the state--that's not to say that these players were necessarily better than Randolph, 'Q Thornton, but stretching for DJ Wright (who now is no longer coming) and Garrett Green, was interesting. We were lucky to correct our path midseason with signing Marcus Thornton (hometown BR product) and Bo Spencer.

Recruiting 2008 Louisiana recruits will be a slugfest. A lot of good small and power forwards, that are getting looks from everywhere. I predict at least 2 LA kids signed next year, which ones remains a unfortunate mystery.

:geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. BE A FAN.

Everyone was wrong on both of the kids. Neither should have been top 500, imo. Doesn't give LSU an excuse, though...

Our frontcourt has been in excellent shape for a number of years now. Losing Rolle means.... well, it's no longer in excellent shape. As good as Randolph is, and of course Tas', I worry about whether Q. Thornton and Garrett Green can provide the depth down low in the SEC. Chris Johnson has his work cut out for him as well.

Let's see what Hatch can do with CJ.

Olu was a buddy of DJ Wright, as they both played on an AAU team together. We actually had cooled on him, and he on us, sometime ago. DJ (and Nikita Johnson) not being here sealed the deal. On top of that, he was slipping in the rankings, known as an active but undersized PF.

How LSU does in LA this next year will be the key question.

He decided to go to a school up north to be with his brother, who was the Duquense player that got shot in the head.
