Interesting, the Brady bunch is pulling out all the stops in their quest for a point guard. Rivals now lists another PG who shows interest in the Tigas. Hank Thorns, a 5-8 PG, All-Stater from Nevada. Apparently, he's a do it all PG with 27 ppg, 12 rpg, and 6+ apgs, and goes down as one of Nevada's all-time scorers. I don't know much about him, but I like the sound of him. Quick guy with good handles, who can shoot? Another name to watch... http://www.maxpreps.com/FanPages/Pl...0-8564-42780ffaa8cd/SchoolID-73780a96-6525-46 Real good stats, but not listed with any stars by Rivals or having any schollies listed. His size may be hurting him, but he certainly would give the Tigers a new dimension. :geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. ONE FINAL FOUR AIN'T BAD.
Ok, maybe the thought of Thorns here got me excited... maybe that's a sign  that we should try to sign this kid. ALL Tiger fans can be excited about this. Thorns is actually also a WR. In fact he was number 20 on the list of top unsigned FOOTBALL players in the state of Nevada back in February. Here's what A NV prep report had to say... WR Henry (Hank) Thorns Valley 5'9 175 2005: 9 rec 132 yds 3 tds 30 car 116 yards 0 td 8-19 301 yards 3 td 2006: 48 rec 830 yds 9 tds Career: 57 rec 962 yds 16.9 avg 12 tds One of Nevada's most talented basketball players leading Southern Nevada in points per game and ranked near the top in assist. He has the most potential on the football field where he has excellent speed and quickness but is still raw around the edges. Thorns is probably the biggest sleeper on the list. And, the kid's been doing fairly well on the hardcourts as well. He participated at a west coast based hoops tourney, where Donnell Beverly was also noted... http://www.drawingboard.simplysmartwebs.com/page/page/3500792.htm Kinda reminds me of a Demond Carter kind of recruit. Small, scoring point guard who could help LSU push the tempo and break down defenses. Not sure if he's a "pure point" but a sleeper that I like. :geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. ONE FINAL FOUR AIN'T BAD.
I WANT HANK THORNS. He must be a highflying little mofo if he is a WR and gets freaking 12 boards a game. HANK THORNS!
liked the bounce pass and the left hand, but doesnt look like a high-flyer. nate robinson would have flushed it on the breakaway. he's pretty quick if the competition is a high level. and he doesnt shoot from the hip like lsu's only pg
It seems like Bo Spencer's DREAM School is UCONN so the point guard we will probably get out of him and Beverly is the one that UCONN doesnt take.
We're on the nation's top sophomore's list. http://lsu.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=50451
Oh, and we're not going to get Thorns, much to my dismay. http://nevadaprepreport.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=658787
you could read that to mean he doesnt like them that much OR that he doesnt think he'll get an offer. that is, unless he already has offers from them
