Well I don't really think we need him right now and I hope if he does come it doesn't affect Monroes desicion.
Is it Marcus or Quintin Thornton? The link goes to Quintin who is a 6-9 PF. Marcus is a 6-4 SG from Baton Rouge which would seem to make more sense.
here's a link http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/4514086.html anybody know what happen to DH that we dropped him?
Yes, I couldn't find anything either. So, the Advocate has the best scoop. About the only I can see (barring some uncovered character issues or other personal issues) is that Desmond probably had a little bit of a change of heart when he sees that James Tyler commits in Class of '08. A 7-1 space eater down low coming in two years from now cuts into Hendrix's likely playing time, since they were both probably going to be the "classic" post guys. Reminds me of Kentrell Gransberry who transferred to S.Florida--at least this time, we find out with some time to do something about it. This Thornton guy seems to be about the same "caliber" of JUCO--another top 10-15 JUCO guy who gives you more versatility down low (he's from a good TX JC with FL ties for recruiting, and got offers from Texas A&M and Texas Tech, among others, so I'd give him some props). He's still going to be playing fighting with Rolle, maybe Randolph, and if we get Monroe, for forward playing time. Assuming Tyler's the center of the future, he probably fits better in '08. The staff's got to think they need bigs... I might of waited on Thornton and left a schollie open for another '08 signee. We've got 3 or 4 top 60 high school kids interested in us, and may not have the ability to sign that many... So, let's not retire this thread just yet... until November 8th! :geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. SIX NBA LOTTERY PICKS... AND COUNTING.
Ahhh, for what it's worth, good ole "Q" might have been a better recruit overall--rated a 3 star by Rivals. Our good friends at Tennessee also recruited the kid out of high school, and while he was a JUCO, along with several other Big 12 schools. Scouting reports have him down as very athletic and a good defender, just learning the offensive game. Sounds like a guy who will hustle, defend, rebound and block shots. Sound familiar?
