Dandy Don reports today on his site the full reason for the flip flop and confirms again (although he quotes this Briscoe guy again), that TODAY, Randolph will have a conference at his school today. He surmises that the choice will be LSU, but I won't count it until he says it...

Any scoop on when the conference will be? :)

Dandy flukes again. He either needs to get with it basketball wise, or stick to the football updates.

Yeah, it's annoying... No news anywhere. Note to self ... Need to be wary of the DD posts on hoops.

For what it's worth, I checked out Texas' recruiting boards and as it looks now, Texas has already gotten commitments from 3 4-star (according to Rivals) forwards, including recently a 6-11 big man from Oregon. I'd say that if Anthony Randolph is considering where he fits into the future of a team, LSU's got a clearer picture.

AR can play solidly PF or SF in the LSU line up in a year. Presuming Big Baby leaves for the NBA and Lazare is gone. He's got the option of playing PF with Rolle at center, or shifting outside and having Tas' play bigger. Hendrix is a true-post, and DJ and Garrett are more outside. I think AR knows he fits in at LSU, and likes the team chemistry, it's just the homers in Texas trying to change his mind...

Hmmm.... very interesting. Good post, TGer'nLHornLand. Hopefully, we'll see something sometime next week. LSU is clearly the place to go if he wants playing time.

Note to self, DD should be used as a source of entertainment & never be taken as fact until confirmed by a real media member - regardless of the sport. :)

    IT'S DONE!!!!

If you believe Rivals, anyway. Just posted on the Rivals site, the article states that actually Anthony Randolph committed over the weekend.

    http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?cid=593094

He picks LSU  , based upon the closeness and the chemistry with the LSU guys. And, don't ever state that players from the past don't help sell LSU and the program that Brady's running. Our very own Tyrus Thomas, supposedly help seal the deal by coming back to BR and hanging out with AR and the boys.

We can all breathe a collective sigh of relief. Our hoops recruiting class just got a whole lot better folks...

    From Rivals:

"Anthony had thought about LSU and Texas the last seven-to-ten days after he had made his trip to LSU, and it just all kind of boiled down to the atmosphere at LSU," said Wilson head coach Pat Washington. "He really got along with the guys there, guys like Tasmin (Mitchell), Glen (Davis), and Tyrus Thomas, who had come down to hang out with them. He liked the feel of the place, and it wasn't so much that he didn't like Texas, it was he really liked the guys at LSU."
