Now all we have to do is hope that it's raining on his Kansas visit. But is Kansas really competition? I sure did think Texas was our main competition for AR's services...
Amen, bro'. I would generally agree, although I worry about Kansas being the last visit. If you look at the Big 12 landscape, Kansas actually has been rated higher than TX, and has some good recruiting momentum. Of course, that's why AR wouldn't want to go to Kansas, since he's going to be behind a bevy of talented big men that have signed with Kansas in recent years (including D.Arthur, who will obviously have some thoughts on LSU). You hope that AR sees he'll probably get more PT at LSU and LSU has a better track record of getting its bigs to the pros. I just worry that if he goes to Kansas, he drinks the coolaid and buys into how Kansas is a basketball school first. We'll see... his visit to Kansas in a few weeks, I think, so he has time to sit and think (which may hurt us). :geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. SIX NBA LOTTERY PICKS ... AND COUNTING.
There's a different article about AR's visit up now at Rivals. And I don't really think that if he takes his time it will hurt us...
AR is down to 2 schools! LSU and UT! Kansas is out! http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=42273&Sport=2
If so, this is certainly a national big time recruit. Here's to CJB and staff for bringing home the bacon and making a fool out of me.
Wow! If true (and I'm holding my breath ), this would be a HUGE step for the program. Going into bordering Texas and picking up a commit from Dallas (right up there with Houston as a TX hotbed), is HUGE. Not only b/c it's Dallas, and it lays the seeds down for future recruiting in-roads, but this is a top 15 kind of guy. Kidding to Deek aside (I see he's already preempted the flaming:grin: ), this is a very interesting class. It may not go down as a top 5 class like Bass's year, but it's a very diverse class (with visible recruiting strategems for the future) that fills some obvious needs. As for the geography theories (we can only land recruits 50 miles from campus), I think we should officially throw out that crap: DJ Wright, Toronto (but he plays with Canada/NY AAU team--Olu Ashaolu for '08). Desmond Hendrix, Illinois (establishes connection to Wabash Valley, and continues midwest pipeline--see D. Mason). Garrett Green, L.A., California (Taft high school. Another pipeline--Larry Drew, PG of '08 is a headliner) Anthony Randolph, Dallas, Texas (We miss out on Darrell Arthur, but land Randolph) Tommy Mason-Griffin '09, Houston, Texas This may end up being just a top 15 type of class, but when it's all said and done, this could be a top 10 class in potential and filling the Tigers needs. :geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. DON'T BE A HATER. PACK THE PMAC.
