Doucet was released last month and Johnson two years ago. You and me both. LSU had him at CB since he was the best available option for the position. We just thought we saw a ball hawking, turnover creating machine in the corner position. Hide and watch what he does as a free safety.
Too slow for FS and man2man. He needs to be at nickel in a zone scheme. Tight ends are going to eat his lunch. I honestly believe TM will be an all-pro special teamer, but never a starter.
Great move by the Cardinals! Is the best place for Honey Badger, being paired again with PP, and throw Minter in the mix. I'm a bit more of a Cardinal fan now, for sure.
That gives him two strong mentors to help him keep the train on the tracks. However they can only do so much. Im pulling for TM and as much as it kills me to say the Cardinals too.
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see where TM adds much value to an NFL team. I just don't think he can cover the 6'4" freaks that every team seems to have. He's an outstanding punt returner, but the Cardinals already have one of the best doing that.
As good as PatPete is, I would still have to go with TM7. It maximizes the value you get out of him. Plus, you don't want to lose one of the top up-and-coming cornerbacks in the game to a special teams injury.
Mathieu definitely needs to thank PP7 for the character testimony. It let him go to a good defensive team, and it let him get drafted a round or two early.
