I agree and it is a different world we live in today. However, remember that the long term contract also is in the best interest of the school The worse thing that can happen is for a coach to only have 2 or 3 years left on his contract except for just having one. The media will turn that into a lack of confidence thing in a New york minute and the other coaches will use it as a recruiting tool. The fact is that Saban head LSU by the balls when he won the national championship and had the $1 more provision in his old contract. And LSU signed the new contract knowing full well it would probably never be honored, although I'm sure they were hoping it would be in force for a little longer. Anyway, Saban will be forgiven by most of those that are pissed at him as time heals the wounds, just like Paul D was.
didnt saban say something like: "its all about the next game" Thanks nick, but its time to move on for LSU fans.
Actually Nick Saban does have a crystal ball :crystal: And so does The Hat :crystal: And we all know where to find them.:champs::champs:
Saban's future depends on how well he can break into and recruit heavily from the suburban Atlanta talent pool. The Alabama - Georgia game will have a big impact on that. After Saturday, Bama will not play Georgia again during the regular season for another three years. Bama has not beaten Georgia in 12 years and since Stallings was the coach at Bama. Richt is hauling out the black jerseys and is making this game a showdown event. The Georgia players have been reminded about all of the trash that the Bama fans heaved on them in the endzone last year after scoring the winning TD in OT. Should be an absolute brawl.
