i'd say exactly the opposite and that he was less personable than most successful coaches are, per se. His football genius is his forte' imo.

    I disagree...

Some of his flaws were plannign errors etc...

He was good enough to win because of his great ability to motivate and to recruit.

Explain those planning errors. What in the hell is in the water tonight? Saban is a football genius. Yes Belichick came during the offseason to talk to Saban about motivation and recruiting. Are you serious? Saban was not a great motivator.

    Okay: let's see:

Oregon State: wet field: so easy to throw the ball b/c the corners don't know the routes... yet we don't try to fun and gun until it was almost too late:

Ole Miss in 03: LAST ranked pass defense in the NCAA: We come out and try to pound it down their throat, and almost lose:

    Iowa: JaMarcus= 3rd string:

I mean i know it is easy to nit-pick... I think he just lost faith in the air game sometimes...

I'm not saying he isn't the best: b/c i know he was... I just know that he does have flaws too

And to compare him to Bill Belichek is premature... We'll let this whole NFL thing play out 1st

In the spirit of constructive criticism, the proper spelling is "per se". :thumb:

Most ex-coaches get fired and leave us with no championships and a losing team that needs rebuilding. Nick won three championships in five years, left a team more talented than he had before, and tooka promotion and a big paycheck from the NFL.

Why should anybody have a problem talking about Nick? Nick is news.

I noticed that when Tirk made sure to include the proper spelling of the phrase in his post. I don't mind it being pointed out though.
