I hold no ill will towards old Nick. Except for the way he played things in winding up at Bama. Which still sticks in my craw a bit even today. Truth is (and I know I'm gonna get tarred and feathered for saying this), he get get a very sick Tiger football program rolling in the right direction and wound up with the crystal for it. Had he gotten a job at say somewhere like Vanderbilt etc...none of this would even be an issue. I wish him well with the Gumps...except of course when it comes to playing the Tigers. Short of that, he's a very good "college" coach.:tigereye:
He hired one heck of an OC. Once he leaves for a HC gig and Bama isn't off to those lightening fast starts, they'll look mortal again.
Nick made a mistake hiring Applewhite, ran him off, and tried again. Did a better job the second time. He doesn't let friendship or loyalty stand in the way. You are accountable. Can't argue with the result.
