how nice of the Tea Party The Cincinnati Tea Party went so far as to proclaim the entire nation dead by suicide. [H/T Reddit] Other conservative groups are coping in different ways. The Lebanon Tea Party in Ohio emailed supporters, mourning the "loss of our country" and encouraging a counter-revolution. "Today the takers clearly outnumber the makers. Government has grown to take over this country instead of a government of the people. Reasons for this loss of our freedom can be found in all national, statewide and local candidate and tax issues," the message read. “We will be a socialist nation within months. However, a revolution is rising and all those elected officials that are blind to what they have done to this country should be encouraged to become enlightened, should be encouraged to step down and should not be reelected.”
I cannot disagree with a thing that you wrote here, including that a female could make a good leader. The biggest problem is that so many jobs and so much of the economy is wrapped around our elections process and PACs that we will never be able to purge ourselves. It's like the fact that a flat tax across the board with no deductions/exemptions should be the way to go, but too many people are employed by the IRS and too many people are CPAs that make a living doing complicated tax returns. The war on drugs is another example of the government fighting something that should probably be left alone--but then again, law enforcement and government agency jobs would be lost. Our country feels out of control and far gone right now. And the Electoral College has marginalized many Americans in the voting process. I really don't like that a handful of counties in a handful of states determines our president every four years.
that makes two of us Mobius. I am very hopeful that they will get a "grand bargain" done before the end of the year. IMHO this is the single largest impediment to further business investment. As soon as out elected official prove that they possess the capacity to work together toward solving our fiscal problems, the business community will follow suit and our economy will begin a genuine recovery. The signs are all pointing toward better days with housing starts and other key indicators signaling some gained steam. That said, that will all be for naught if the politicians don't get a deal in place.
They are sorta right just wrong on time of death. Our rights have been deteriorating for quite some time. And Obama is all about big govt, which leads directly to an erosion of those rights.
So the TP is considering a "counter-revolution", eh. They aren't even trying to hide being right-wing extremist kooks.
