I understand your frustration with Lee, but it isn't like we played totally error-free football too. JPW had a stupid pick. Dont get me started on the fumble for the touchback...and Arenas giving it away on the kickoff. We made mistakes too. It was an entertaining game. A bit sloppy, but a fun game.
Well, with all due respect of course, you guys can't possibly have anything to complain about. Sure, you had errors, but the fact you were able to overcome them in a hostile and emotion-filled environment is a testament to your Program at this point in time. LSU, OTOH, is facing serious adversity due to our QB situation. Losing Perilloux has seriously damaged us. The coaches need to find a way to resolve that problem as soon as possible. I am not sure what the answer is, even if I have some ideas. Watching the program slip this far this year is painful, especially in a game like this that we easily could have won. But I guess we have to understand this slippage in preserving the integrity of the program. I am referring to the dismissal of Perilloux. There was a collective rejoice around the SEC the day that happened, and you guys know it. Once again, congrats on the win. Both my brothers went to and graduated from 'Bama. I am sure they are happy. At least one of them is.
Julio is indeed a freak. Exceptionally strong for a WR and he isn't afraid of contact. He's been dragging DB's downfield and running over people all season. Nothing to be embarrassed about. He'll be a first round draft choice in a few of years.
Thanks. It was a great game, exciting, and could've gone either way. That 4th quarter was a heartstopper. With a good QB, you could well be undefeated. That's LSU's only real weakness that I've seen. I'm with you though; the solution to that problem isn't easy. You can't recruit an experienced qb and you can't wave a magic wand and make Lee experienced. If you'd kept Perilloux, you'd have the qb, but the damage to team morale & discipline would likely more than offset the positive.
LOL! I understand. We've felt the same way about some of your players over the years. He seems like a good kid though. After all the hoopla & attention during recruiting, it would've been easy for him to let it go to his head, but he showed up in Tuscaloosa this summer in top condition and with the attitude that he was gonna outwork everybody. He gives 100% effort. Can't ask for more than that.
Julio Jones is incredible, simply an amazing WR. The question that has to be on Bama fan's minds, though, is how you guys will be next year with a rookie QB of your own? As was evident in our game on Saturday, it can make all the difference, and an all-world WR can catch balls that don't get to him.
