CLM is called an ass by fans of other teams all the time. The sad thing is, on this very board today, friggin' LSU fans were saying (or at least implying) the same.:rolleye33:
I think Peveto and Mallory get the credit for that. I believe they are not teaching our defense how to tackle. They are trying to strip the ball instead of sticking and dropping. (It was not just jones dragging players)
I cant lie to you guys and tell you that I'm not worried about Florida. Since the loss to OM, these guys have just turned into a well oiled machine. Islstl you guys may have contained our running game but you didn't stop it cold. Coffee did have 126...and as far as JPW not being the answer--he may not be flashy but he's a senior that is a leader and similar to Jay Barker. Not great, not good...but gets the job done and doesnt make a lot of mistakes. To beat Florida, the defense is going to have to bring their freakin lunch and our ground game has to grind it out and keep Tebow and company off the field. As far as Auburn goes....It wont be close.
I'll bet you ten dollars it will be close, I actually believe it they have a good shot at winning this game. I think you would admit that if either team has a down year, the old iron bowl is their bowl game of the year. I can't wait for this game, as usual, one of my favorites.
One thing I can give Bama is they have the best defensive mind in college football on their side. Can he come up with the perfect gameplan to keep Bama in it? That will be a great matchup to follow. Tebow and the gang vs Saban. Florida put up 42 in just 3 quarters against a very fundamentally sound Vandy defense.
I have $150 on the game straight up. They are having just too many problems on the plains. No offense and the defense is going downhill too. The players dont trust their coach either. They struggled with UT-Martin at home... The atmosphere in Tuscaloosa on Nov 29th is going to be insane, that's for sure!!!
Big spender! I'm too broke right now but I do realize you could be right. What are the chances CTT is around another year? Anyone knows how many years he has left on his contract? Keep in mind being successful and new is somewhat new to Bama this year. Just keep in mind they could have an up game and you guys could have a let down. Like Ole Miss at Florida, you know this is the SEC and this happens quite often.
What? They're controlling their own destiny. Last year we had to rely on others' losses to back in, '03 too. This is the SEC, there's no easy path through it.
It was a good game...congrats Red Elephant. As far as the teams I've seen, I don't believe Alabama is the best team in the country. Of course they are a good team and would only need to win a couple of games for the title so you never know. I think the Penn State loss hurt Bama's chances. It appeared that Alabama would need to get past LSU and Florida and then play Penn State for a title. The Penn State loss opens the door for a Big 12 team which means Alabama would need to defeat Florida and then possibly Texas, Oklahoma, or Texas Tech. I believe those teams are tougher than Penn State. I don't think Alabama has the depth or enough talent on offense to win both. They will need to rely on their defense which will be on the field longer than they have been most of the season. The LSU game plan will also be studied by future opponents because it worked pretty well. The defense really only gave up seven points in regulation. I think the LSU/Bama game in 2010 will be great. By then both teams will be loaded. Bama will have more depth than this year and LSU should be in much better shape at QB. The Julio Jones / Patrick Peterson matchup will be one of the best in football. These guys are young but look like they'll be playing on Sundays in a few years. It looks like Florida / Georgia versus Alabama / LSU for the next few years with an occasional upset by Ole Miss or South Carolina. Auburn and Tennessee will be down for awhile. (I wonder which one will hire Saban. :grin
Thanks. Glad you had fun. It's hard to think of this game as a great football game when your QB is throwing 4 interceptions and totally lost his confidence at one point. Not to sound like I have sour grapes, but I gotta think that any impartial person watching this game is thinking that if LSU has a half-way decent QB in the game, 'Bama gets blown out. You guys really got lucky as far as I can tell. That said, congratulations. I am looking forward to a great SECCG between you guys and jorts.
