One lost muff on a punt return and another bobbled kickoff that he had to let go as a downing in the endzone. Not likely to keep a return man who can't hold on to the ball. That's too bad, cuz he has the motor to take it the distance on any play. He did have a really good kickoff return to the 38 yard line.
Trindon is toast in the NFL. The Saints cut Larry "Leave it to" Beavers right after he had a 97 yard KO returned against the Pats. Good news for TW is that he is fast enough to make a good living on the pro track circuit
He (or his situation, rather) reminds me of a worse version of Skylar Green who couldn't stick anywhere in the NFL. Green actually held on to the ball and was a decent returner when used if I remember correctly. Trindon has looked pretty bad these last two games.
I liked having Skyler Green (4th round pick by the Cowboys) on the roster with the Saints. He made it three years in the NFL for three different teams before he went to the CFL (Edmonton Eskimos). If Trindon (6th round pick) can't make it in the NFL, the CFL might want him too. And so might the pro-track circuit.
I agree he has not looked sharp, but he hurt his thumb last week and the hand was in a cast. They were not sure if he'd play at all in NO. Not sure how much that mitigates his performance, but if you're out there, ya gotta perform. But it's looking bad for him, I agree.
Let's be honest... He never should have returned punts -- even at LSU. He always struggled to catch them. He can help as a kick returner, and maybe even as a slot trick play guy, but I don't see him as a punt returner. I never have. But his speed alone will earn him 12 months on the practice squad.
Don't torture me! By the way, planning to make the trip to Canadian Rockies in mid Sept., the one I missed 2 years ago.
Charles Scott will be gone as well from what I hearing. I guess he looks horrible in practice, for some reason the Eagles thought he could catch passes. He has now been moved to FB and I guess is 3rd string. He played very hard for the Tigers but he just doesn't have the skills needed. IMHO
Not really surprised. Guys who only return kicks and punts are a rarity in the NFL. You have to be able to contribute elsewhere. That's why, IMO, if it comes down to a numbers situation with the Saints, they'll keep Courtney Roby over Adrian Arrington. This news does surprise me. CS was turning heads at the beginning of training camp, from what the reports that were being posted here said. I wonder what happened?
