Play the odds, that's what I do. When you look at some of the jobs that open an they hire a Hoke, Muschamp, Butch Jones, BB at Ark, Strong, it doesn't take long to look at the odds. I can give a long, long list of names that have failed over the years in the SEC. Where are they now?

Red55 - I respect your opinion, and I hope you respect mine. We have to ask if CLM is improving our program and what our goals are. If we are happy with 9-10 wins a year and losing to Bama four straight then CLM is doing "a good job"? We have to win our last two regular season games and a bowl game to finish with 10 wins this year.

Mike Shula won 10 games at Bama in 2005 but he was gone after another year because he was not winning the SEC. Is CLM a winner? Yes, but he has the done a great job the last 2 years? That would be "no".

Do I think LSU can find a better coach? The answer is yes. The question is whether the fan base wants a better coach, and many are happy with the status quo. I for one think LSU is one of the top 5 jobs in the country and we can find a better coach than CLM. Will we win the SEC every year? No, but no one does that, however I would like to see LSU compete each year and that is not happening. We have had two blowout loses this year and we have two very tough road games ahead of us. I would rate CLM currently as the 3rd or 4th best coach in the SEC west, and his record the past two years back that up.

I don't live in Colorado, so I'm not smoking anything. In your opinion, rank the coaches in the SEC west and let's see where you rank CLM.

I recommend you look at the records over the past two years, and you will see that CLM does not have the #2 record in the west amongst active coaches.

The other coaches have not lost the number of underclassmen that CLM has.

Good point - but if I could click my heels and sprinkle fairy dust I'd want Saban back in a heartbeat. As far as what might satisfy the masses, prob Fisher coming in would make people happy. I'd pass on Jimbo. I think he recruits low life's - certainly has one as qb. I'd rather LSU keep some standards. Not interested in going thru season after season wondering which of Jf's band of merry men was arrested each Thursday. Perriloux was more than enough for me.
