I know the stats I posted are horribly formatted. Here are the links DP http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/512030/dak-prescott AJ http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/546033/anthony-jennings The point of showing these stats are to point out Prescott has been better than Jennings across the board (comparing season by season). So if "LSU fans would never put up with how mediocre Dak was until last year", it make since that many of us are calling for a change away from Jennings. Just for completeness purposes here is Harris stats http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/559751/brandon-harris
I don't think he was on most folks radar, Mullen said even he wasn't real sure about the guy. Doesn't seem like Miles is looking for the next Tebow either.
I can see a Assistant Coach going to Michigan , hoping that he can make a name for himself , . I will do a little homework to see if I can get a 100 to 1 bet on that . Be a great bet . Miles has been able to get good to great talent while in B R due to LSU and the program . Will not happen "Way Up North " !
Look where they found Hoke. But then again, Hoke coached as an asst at Mich for 8 years, he should have known. 11, 8, 7 and 5 are the wins Hoke has had each year, 5 is so far this year
I can happen, but the odds are against them. Too many groups fighting against each other up there. Like I said, most of their problems are off the field. saban had to fight the Big Mich while up there, now, Mich St is the big dog up there. Mich needs to fix the problems from within, whomever takes job will have their hands more than full. I often talk about the right fit, with this problem, the right fix is few and far between.
I'll just say this. When the Alabama coach left and Miles was hired, just about the entire fan base hated the hire and was saying the same things, such as 'we'll be the Vanderbilt of the SEC in a couple of years' etc. It didn't happen. So what makes people think it's automatically going to happen if/when Miles leaves? Isn't it possible, and more likely probable, that we hire a competent coach to keep this thing going and maybe even excel? Another thing people always say to those that criticize Miles is 'who do you want as coach if he leaves'. The problem with that question is that no answer will ever satisfy the asker. Said coach will either be criticized for not being high profile enough, not being good enough, or will not leave his current job to come coach at LSU.
Only if one is available. That doesn't happen very often. We went through six coaches after Chollly Mac until we found a keeper. Did Florida go out and just replace Spurrier or Meyer? Nope in both cases. Did Bama go out and just replace Stallings? No they went through five until they found a keeper. We will never be the Vanderbilt of the SEC but we are not guaranteed to find a keeper right out of the gate. History shows us that getting two winners in a row with Les and Nick was very, very rare.
I lay the Archer/Hallman/DiNardo era directly at the feet of former AD Joe Dean. He hired them all and he had better options on each hire but chose to go the lowball route to save money. When Saban was hired Dean was allowed to take part as a courtesy to the outgoing AD but Mark Emmert was the one pulling the strings on that one.
