Not shy, but I do have another life. You're right, we aren't repeating the mistakes of Iraq 2003; we are creating new mistakes. So briefly stated, the problem with asking ‘what we should do now’ is that all of the past failures have left us with nothing to work with. Obama’s chest thumping proclamations followed up by inaction have killed our credibility. We contributed ‘too little too late’ to help those we should have helped and ended with an embarrassment of a training program. We allowed Russia to muscle its way in and bomb those we claimed to support.

So the only thing left that we should do now is not elect the co-architect of that failed policy. The Huffington Post is hardly part of the vast right wing conspiracy. Read their article “Hillary Clinton and the Syrian Bloodbath”. Then it looks like you’re going to have to vote for Trump.

So you really don't think we should be doing any more than we already are. I quite agree.

Who would those people be? Have the Russians bombed the Kurds or the Iraqis? No. None of the parties in Syria are our friends. Not even the ones we are supplying. We supply them to keep this war going on because it is depleting all of our enemies in the area at little cost to us. Wise up my friend. It ends up in the hands of worse enemies very quickly. There is no involved party to support that wants to turn Syria into a democracy or to be pro-Western. We do not have a dog in this fight. We hit ISIS wherever we can find them but wanting to have anything to do with another middle eastern civil war in Syria is strategically insane. Let Russia own that problem. Iraq almost bankrupted us. Trying to restore Assad's Syria could definitely bankrupt Russia.

The policy did not fail. All of our enemies are taking casualties at great expense in Syria except us.

I'll vote for Trump when idiocy becomes a form of intellect.
