OK, so let's read the very next paragraph in that study that you conveniently forgot to read.

"Fortunately, avoiding such a swift and catastrophic failure does not appear to require a Herculean effort. Further gaming indicates that a force of about seven brigades, including three heavy armored brigades—adequately supported by airpower, land-based fires, and other enablers on the ground and ready to fight at the onset of hostilities—could suffice to prevent the rapid overrun of the Baltic states. While not sufficient to mount a sustained defense of the region or to achieve NATO’s ultimate end state of restoring its members’ territorial integrity, such a posture would fundamentally change the strategic picture as seen from Moscow. Instead of being able to confront NATO with a stunning coup de main that cornered it as described above, an attack on the Baltics would instead trigger a prolonged and serious war between Russia and a materially far wealthier and more powerful coalition, a war Moscow must fear it would be likely to lose. "

You want to guess what has happened since that study? Yep, more brigades, airpower and missiles have been added in the Baltic and Poland.

    LOL

SO in April 2016 when US ARMY commanders/generals reported to congress they were NOT confident in defending NATO countries they are full of shit? I mean, they are the experts. No need to take my word for it.

You are also still unaware we are going through force reductions.

The US makes up well over the majority of NATO's defense. As I said, NATO countries not named the US are utter shit.

Then cite that report so we don't have to. You've already been caught cherry picking comments.

Of course, it's not my fault or problem that you refuse to see what is right in front of you. Our forces are depleted, tired, under equipped (yes still better than those jackholes) morale is down. I hope we don't have to get involved in any of this crap just to prove that I'm on the right side. NATO is pretty much that little dog that hopped over the big bulldog walking down the street, cartoon from long ago. The US IS NATO.

What people miss and fail to see, as the generals point out, Russia conflict would spark others like North Korea, Iran, etc.

We could not ready fast enough to effectively deny Russia ground gain. Could we take it back in time? Probably, but to mobilize an effective force would take months. We simply have not kept up with technology and Russia HAS the technology to effective take out tanks and planes with their advanced rockets and anti-air.

Well, I read it cocksucker. And nowhere did the generals say that they are not confident that they can defend NATO. You lied again. Generals are pretty damned confident fellows. They rationally discussed the budget management choices they have made. The closest they came to any lack of confidences was the statement that in some budget scenarios "the Army risks losing qualitative overmatch". Do you understand what overmatch means, round mouth?

We both have the technology and ours is more advanced. The Russians are freaked about our anti-missile, anti-air technology.
