Yeh, but like those that your football team claim, some of those 19 are disputed and need an asterisk by them.
There is a real agenda with this study. It states counts income from all sources (public or private) for coaches, but is silent on that topic for other employees. I wonder if doctors, agency heads, and other highly compensated government employees are treated the same?
It didn't count all their income, it counted the income guaranteed on their contracts. Les makes even more money for endorsing Raisin' Canes and from investments but that doesn't count. State employees can also make money outside of their government jobs if there is no conflict of interest, and many do. But this isn't guaranteed them under contract.
lol, now i want to know who wins the debate national championships it appears the last great SEC debate team was the highly-esteemed silver-tongued southern orators of Athens, Georgia, who entered the 2007 National Debate Tournament as the #1 seed. That year, the tournament was won by in-state rivals Emory University (who has the most successful debate team in the South, winning three recent National Championships: 1996, 2000, 2007) Read more: UGA debaters are arguably a national powerhouse...Georgia continues its streak, sending teams to the nationals for the past 20 years. In all, 38 UGA teams have competed for a national title since 1987.... “Debate, like athletics, is competitive, and there may be some alumni who want UGA to be at the top in both academic and athletic fields,” UGA Debate Union coach Ed Panetta says. “There are very few institutions that truly succeed at both; there is no reason UGA shouldn’t find itself amongst that very small group of colleges and universities.” Success doesn’t come without dedication. Culpepper and Rabinowitz say their debate preparation was a full-time job—40 to 60 hours a week researching, strategizing and practicing their arguments in the team’s trophy-filled office in Phi Kappa Hall. That commitment enabled them to excel in their classes and enhanced their collegiate experience, says Culpepper, now in law school at Vanderbilt University. “Debate was the single most important factor in my enjoying the university,” he says. “It really becomes a lifestyle.” The work begins in the summer, when the topic is announced, and continues through the year. “I feel like you almost put in the time of a student-athlete,” says Spencer Diamond, a senior and member of Georgia’s other national qualifying team. ... “The (Georgia) debaters now...are in a league with Dartmouth and Harvard and Berkeley.” ... Panetta hopes to build a $2 million endowment for the program over the next decade. ... Current debaters say the visibility and tradition of Georgia’s program and outstanding facilities made UGA stand out. ... the laborious research and other team requirements can take a toll. “There are definitely times when you’re like, ‘I’m fed up with this,’” she says. “Sometimes we have ridiculous amounts of work to do”... Georgia's Phi Kappa Hall, home to their famous debate team but yeah, looking at pictures at past National Champions, i'm not sure i'd want to see LSU on there: the 1957 National Champions the 2006 National Champions the 2008 National Champions the 2009 National Champions the 2010 National Champions the 2012 National Champions
IE: Stoops AT&T "hello" commercial. Which, in my eyes, could very well be considered a conflict of interest. At the least it's in a very gray area with recruiting rules.
