A few weeks ago I came on this site looking for some insight and travel tips about New Orleans and Louisiana. The responses to my inquiry were sincere and numerous and I just wanted to drop by and say 'thanks.' I can definitely confirm that Ute fans in New Orleans had an amazing time and that many of us over at Utefans.net benefited greatly from the suggestions that many of you provided on this message board. I had a good time celebrating with a lot of Tiger fans after the game on Friday and I also had a good time ignoring the one or two hammered folks who said I needed to get my "sh** (or Mormon a**) out of Louisiana." No worries. If you saw 2 giant U flags being waved 20ft. high in the air up and down Bourbon street on Friday night.....that was me....salUTE65. So anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the hospitality and again, for the suggestions on this board. As for the game, it was a good old-fashioned wood shedding that was completely exciting, but not at all surprising for us Ute fans. For the record, all things (football and non-football factors) considered, the Sugar Bowl by far was much more fun than the Fiesta Bowl was back in 2005. Great job by New Orleans! Thanks again Tigers! :geauxtige (except for tomorrow night .....Go Utes!)
glad you and the other utes had a good time. that was a great game your team played. stick around. we have a lot of fans from other schools that are regulars. it makes for good discussions around here.
Believe me when I say, from the bottom of my heart, that I'm thrilled you guys beat up on Bama in the Sugar Bowl. I'm glad that you had fun in NO.
:geaux: Glad you enjoyed your visit to La. and the "Big Easy". Great game by the way! :thumb: Humbling Gumps is a good thing! :LSU231:
Glad you'all had a good safe time. Don't worry about the few disparagers they aren't representative of Louisiana people. Now we're going to count on you being an adoptive son and Tiger fan so take the oath: Repeat after me, please I promise to be a true and faithful LSU fan, both inside and outside the state of Louisiana ... except when the Utes are playing LSU. I promise not to say a discouraging word about Louisiana State University or any of its athletic teams inside or outside the state of Louisiana ... unless they are competing against the university of Utah. I promise to act in a gentlemanly manner at all times, inside and outside the state of Louisiana, as an ambassador of good will representing the state of Louisiana and in particular, LSU ... Unless Utah happens to be playing LSU. Having done this we fully recognize you as a tiger brother with all the rights and priveleges that appertain and we duly authorize you to administer the LSU oath of allegience to any of your confreres (thats French for Podnas). Welcome to Tiger nation... oh and, by the way, LSU is playing Utah tonight in roundball so ... at least for today... You're TIGERBAIT !!!! The oath takes full effect immediately after the game no matter which team is victorious.
If you stick around, I might have another Utah Jazz fan backing me up. It is me against the world right now.
Well I am a Jazz fan so I got your back and all I'll say is this: Deron Williams > Chris Paul Considering the Jazz have been teetering on the brink of disaster this year I think we should be pretty grateful that we're still in the mix of things.
I think I could handle that oath pretty well, but since I'm a football junkie it makes me feel kind of weird to take that oath upon myself because when the sun sets, Crowton is still your OC. I will say that to my best recollection, I have NEVER openly rooted against the Tigers for any reason. Like other college football die-hards, I love watching SEC games when they don't get in the way of my Utes.
