Whew, just reading through this thread. The testosterone was flowing last night, eh? and into the wee hours of the morning, apparently. Definitely some criticisms are due, mostly on STs and 3rd and long defense. All in all, though, we beat a ranked SEC team that was tough on def. We kept them in it w/our mistakes, but to their credit, they also made some plays. We're 6-0, and potentially the #2 team on the playoff board. Me's happy
Uh, you may want to check out who started this thread before criticizing anyone for how they celebrate a win. Dude couldn't wait to do it and literally typed as fast as he could, once he was sure the game was over. Still waiting, but my guess is you'll respond with some lame attempt at insulting me, rather than post anything of substance regarding your prediction.
A couple of points. 1) There were many who were predicting future irrelevance for LSU under Les. 1a) Several made personal attacks on players like AJ (remember JJ2) and others as well as Les (watermelon head) that have no place for a fan. 2) There were justified criticisms of Les in the past. 3) Les has generally addressed many of the criticisms. Note Many of the changes that were called for were made. I remember several posting on the board that there was NO way Harris would get a fair shot and Les would replace him in a second. What say you now boys? 3a) As Harris and the WRs have progressed the O has been opened and we see where in the last 2 games more has been asked and more have been provided by the passing attack. I don't think anyone can honestly compare this year's O to 2014 or 2011 & 2102. 3b) Who in his right mind wouldn't lean on LF7 like we have? Also haven't we seen him used as a decoy several times to big advantage? 3c) Could Lesticles be making a return no that he has a team he has confidence in? flea Flicker & fake FG looked pretty good. 4) There is room for improvement yes but IMO this team has improved every week. That is important no critical. It is also a sign of good coaching that the team is getting better in execution especially the O. This is a young team in several critical areas and it shows in the breakdowns on D and special teams. We need to hit our peak in November and December. I think we can and will. 5) THE HEART OF THE SEASON IS JUST UPON US. There is nothing to this season if we don't finish strong. The mindless chest pumping by BOTH sides is stupid at this time. Overall I am very optimistic this can be a very good season. IMO we are a year ahead of schedule and while it's not a great success yet it's looking real good.
I think the point to remember is predictions are predictions. I predicted 4 losses this season. I'll probably be wrong. FANFUCKINGTASTIC!!!!!! I've stated from the outset I hope I'm dead wrong.
So, you predicted 4 losses before the season. Were AU, Florida, perhaps even SC on your list of possible losses? You don't still think we'll lose 4, right?
Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Ole Miss I would have changed the South Carolina one preseason had I known the game would be switched to Death Valley. No I don't think we will lose 4. Like I said, I'm very happy to be wrong and have no problem admitting I was very wrong.
