What exactly WAS illegal about that?

 

We ran that play twice my JV year, the difference is we would send the QB to the side lines with a coach waving him in holding a another ball. It was called “the wrong ball play.” After the snap, the line would act like we were going back in the huddle. It worked three times for the JV squad. When we tried it in a playoff game on the varsity level it failed miserably . I think we got a yard on it.

 

They're still trying to figure it out.. but ultimately it didn't work for them for whatever reason.

 

man these high school coaches are getting creative.

 

Didn't Central pull that play off before? The backflipping one I mean.

 

Ah yes, the wrong ball trick. Even if the QB wouldn't get destroyed in college, I'm almost sure that's an illegal snap penalty. I won't even venture a guess on the backflip thing.
