Hester is competing with speedy Darren Sproles for the backup tailback spot Great article:..... I say he should take the #2 RB position because Sproles is more of a scatback kinda like Trindon. Jacob is a pure tough runner. Its like he wasn't even suppose to be a tailback at LSU. We had plenty of those guys but in the end, who got most of the carries that led us to the promise land? Hester nough said:crystal:
Sproles took a knee jolt on a punt reception last weekend over the Rams. Pretty soft and expected back in practice this week. Both he and Hester are pretty much playing for the 2 and 2a position. Hester on the hard yards, Sproles into the open field kind of freak-freak. Tolbert, who is playing FB looks just like Hester, they are the same kind of bulls. SD backfield is just a couple games away from being a dream backfield. LT gets hurt and the Chargers are still a threat on the ground. Folks here are ga ga all day long now over Hester!
He was a two-star, but I believe he was a pure fullback and as such was a little too small to be a prime prospect.
I have freinds East Coast, West Coast that are not Tiger fans but are football fans and love Hester, they may not know any other players on our roster but they love Hester. If you love football, you love Hester....period. He is my favorite Tiger of all time, they just do not make em better than him. S D has a great one. If LT gets hurt (not wishing that on him) it will be fun to see how Norv Turner uses him in their offense.
I think he was. I only saw him play one time and that was vs one of those HS teams from California that was undefeated for something like five years. They played ECA on ESPN. The California team clearly had better talent at every position and it was a mis match. Hester though, ran hard caught passes and did everything possible to keep it respectable. He never quit.
He is STILL my favorite LSU player. I also wear #18, LOL, I bought my jersey when MM still wore it! This is also NOW my favorite LSU #. We will win 18 games this year btw! I don't know who will be my favorite player this year. Time will tell, stay tuned!
