Johnson look like a giant for college football or pro if this article is correct. The top uncommitted prospects left in Texas are linemen with great size, strength and tenacity. Herman Johnson of Denton, Texas, impressed everyone at the U.S. Army All-American Game with his pro-like run-blocking ability. The 6-7, 395-pounder dominated his defender in both practice and in the game. Right now it appears to be a battle between Oklahoma and LSU for his services. The other lineman is Franklin Okam of Dallas Lake Highlands. The 6-5, 300 two-way tackle was down to Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Texas.
His report seem to be fluctuated between 6.6 to 6.8 & 350 to 395 but no DOUBT about it. This guy is HUGE. "Herman (Tha House) Johnson, 6-8, 350, 5.3, Denton In my 24 years of scouting Herman may be the biggest player I've ever interviewed. In person he is not fat and actually carries his weight remarkably well. He was the biggest baby ever born in the state of Louisiana and may be the biggest person in Denton, Texas. He was 15 pounds and 14 ounces at birth. On Film-He's an exceptional pass blocker with extremely long arms, super quick feet and a nasty disposition. If Herman can put it all together, he should become a college All-American. He broke the Denton school record for pancake blocks last season and it will be interesting to see how well he does in college when he goes up against players of comparative size. Believe it or not he played more OG than OT last season showing tremendous lateral speed, he can pull and trap like a 200 pounder and can dominate at both positions. Stats-A two-time All-District performer at OT. Benches 345 and has a 22" VJ. Grades-His GPA is somewhere around a 2.5 and he needs to work on his test score. Other Sports-In basketball he averages 27 points and 14 rebounds a game at center. Favorite Schools-His top four are LSU, OK, TX A&M and CO."
Man I hope we get this guy. It looks like he needs a little work in the weight room, for a guy his size I would like to see a much higher bench press. Can you imagine what a monster he will be when he hits 20?!!! If he stays in college for 4 years, whew he'll be some large. I saw some footage of him a few weeks back and he looked like he was playing against pee wee players.
Weight problem, needs to learn to run, pass block better, needs a 16 on ACT. That's the down side. On the upside, tremendous potential at tackle and dominating presence in running game. Two-year project. Don Long reported him close to signing, this could be a big weekend. OU & LSU
Weight problem? Everything I have read says he is in great shape for his size with more muscle than fat.
yeah he isn't FAT he is solid as far as muscle. He is just really big boned. He is the largest baby ever born in louisiana at 15 pounds at birth.
If he is the largest than he must just beat out Archie's oldest son, do any of you remember when he was born, it hit newspapers all over the south. He weighed a little over 15 pounds I think.
