Good for you. It means you missed Davie Jones' Locker. Shoot me!!!!!

Cutrera had a good game. And I know that it's the theme of the day to say the entire defense sucked, but our linebackers were, in fact, improved last night. They will only get better.

And who is this Patterson kid? What an athlete!!

I thought all of the linebackers played great last night. Cutrera of course with the big play and he did look like he was in great shape. Then Coleman was all over the field making tackles, and Shepp and Riley were in on some plays too. Riley had great coverage in the end zone too when he got isolated in man-to-man.

Huge game for the LBs. DL and secondary need to pick it up. (aside from Jones and Peterson/Patterson of course, who played well)

I thought Jones was disappointingly quiet. And Eugene is still Eugene. Remember the huge play in the second half when he went for the ball, slipped down, then the receiver nearly scored?

Yeah I remember the play well, I almost mentioned him specifically but held off since I figured it had been brought up in another thread.

I was also really disappointed in Hawkins. He needs to get stronger if he's gonna help us in run support and containing QBs. He couldn't get off any downfield blocks last night and it hurt our pursuit ability.

    back on topic-

Cutrera didn't seem to play that much. Sheppard was there to start the game and it seemed like he was out there more than half the time. If he always take a back seat to Sheppard in passing situations, he doesn't figure to play much. Because as it stands, the way to beat LSU is through the air.

Well your disappointment may be not going far enough. It just wasn't that he was so quiet, but that he was out of position so badly it was embarrassing. It was last year all over again. And he can't tackle on top of that. To watch Chad Jones do an ole' was disheartening.

I just don't know if Jones and football will ever meet up.

At least he has that wicked little curve ball.

I remember an announcer at the CWS saying "if he can throw a fast ball and a slider like that, you can make a career in MLB as a spot left hand reliever". Not a bad backup plan to have.
