Following MM's lead, I thought he deserved a thread as well.

I admit I have never been a fan of his and thought SEC football was way over his skill level.

He looks like a totally different player this year and someone who could be a captain of this defense. Lord knows we need a great leader on this D.

    Well done, young man.

This could be my imagination, but I thought he looked thinner and quicker? Did Chief make him do that? I agree, he looked better than the last 2 seasons.

Cutrera has always been in great shape. Don't know about his speed. I don't think he's all-SEC. But he's gotten a bad rap and I was never clear why. Sheppard and Riley got burned more than Jake last year.

Nice game for Jake. But the DL isn't helping pressure the qb on passes. Makes it tough on the 2d and 3d levels.

He definitely was quicker and much more sure of himself.

Dude played very well in the run and pass. Sheppard played well.

Cutrera is not as talented, but he plays smarter defense.

In my book, Cutrera went from a ULL caliber of player to a quite capable LB for the Tigers. I was impressed with his run stopping ability, his quickness, hands, and tackling. The one thing that bothered me was that he was out of position a lot of the times because of the defensive play calling, which isn't his fault. There were times where he would be playing 10-15 yards off of the line, so when a catch was made it was too late/first down.

He seems smart, so that's good.

Nope. I hit the mute button halfway through the 2nd quarter.
