isnt that the truth. one game isnt gonna define the season. but things have got to change or it will be the beginning of a very long rest of the season.
I had to laugh when I read Islstl's post. The ultimate optimistic post of the year! I want some drugs as well. I'm not buying into the purple kool aid just yet. This team has a long way to go before they find out answers on both sides of the ball, (I think) We will be alright for most games but I have my doubts right now about the Georgia and Alabama games. I would like to think we can win out but I'm content with the status of LSU football right now. Its been a great ride and a thrill for myself especially when I think back to the 80's and 90's.
Here's the great news... That's the best offense we'll play this year, and they exposed a lot that the coaches will dump time and energy into. The defense will not play that badly again, therefore the offense will not start out in such a hole again, therefore we should at least be in every game left on our sked, with a chance to win them all and face Florida as a much-improved team with a CHIP our shoulders this time. You'll see intensity and a flat-out clash of the titans as LSU goes out and grabs redemption by the twin danglies and shows us a preview of next year.
Sure, but that's a heckuva prediction when we haven't even put 24 hours between us and that nightmare.
When LSU lost to Tennessee in Miles' 1st season and everyone here was freaked out and was wanting to fire Miles, just because he wasn't Nick Saban, I told you all LSU would win out until the SECCG. When LSU lost to Arkansas, I warned all of you that Pitt had been playing better than their record indicated and they had a decent shot to play a close game with WVU. I was right those two times, so I will take another stab at it here. I think LSU will go 6-1 the rest of the way. I think they will beat Bama and Bama will also slip up somewhere else between now and then. I see 10-2 and SECW Champs in the crystal ball. But I see Florida beating LSU by 7-10 in Atlanta. That team is scary good. Loaded, young offense. Tebow is a junior. Harvin a junior. Demps, Rainey, freshmen. On defense, they don't start a single senior.
Well, at least at this stage, we will get to see if the co-DC's can prove themselves to be worthy! I am sure Lee grew up more last night, and will continue to improve. One question I had in my mind while watching the game last night, when you are facing a team like Florida with their tremendous speed, is there a defense that can stop them when they are clicking on all cylinders? A ton of faster (and prob smaller/lighter) linebackers:huh:
National Championship? Nah.... we're gonna do well to finish 10-3. We have to start tackling better, and our QB has to lead the WR he's throwing to so they can break long runs. Good teams do these things, and so far we haven't played very well on D. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
