I am hearing a lot of this from up in tundraville, including that dumbass reporter up in DETROIT CITY. You guys think that he isn't coming because of t he money. Let's assume that is true, just for the sake of your argument. So what? You got outbid. Scoreboard. No reason to have sour grapes about it. Take it like a man and move on. I don't think we'd be hearing from Michigan about this if you guys didn't think CLM was worth it. At any rate, I'll take Claire's word for it over yours every day of the week. And to address one of the issues presented, I have to agree that if CLM in fact has declined the opportunity to go to UM, he will likely be here a long time and it is time for us to accept that and embrace him. :milesmic:
He's beaten a 3.45 million dollar coach and a 4 million dollar coach. He gets 11 wins per year. Seems fair to me.
I just hope that we now have our long-term coach. He won his first championship tonight (since the big knock on him was never winning any hardware.) Then to top things off in this craziest of all football seasons ever, Coach Miles may, indeed, bring LSU our second NC of this decade. Can you guys even BELIEVE all of this? All week, I've been feeling like LSU was being dumped. Then, today's press conference came, and I just knew the rest of the day would be special. I never could've imagined how special it would be.
I think, more likely, once Michigan decided to give Miles the offer they felt very confident that he would accept it. So much so, that they jumped the gun in letting it leak that he already had. No idea? How about a winning 85% of his games, including a Sugar Bowl win, 2 SEC West championships, an SEC championship, and a likely National Championship game appearance? I don't see how he played anyone. He never told Michigan he would be their HC, and never told LSU he would leave us unless we made him a better offer. And don't kid yourself, Michigan would still take Miles. You have no better candidates. It's not about money or loyalty. It's about what situation is best for Miles. LSU provides a much better opportunity.
Yep. This could end up being the most fateful day in LSU's history. Since this morning, we've gone from being without a coach, and with no shot at the NC...to now possibly having both...
