Hurts is good but he's no DeShawn Watson. He will never play on Sunday but he may end up playing in 4 National Championship Games.
He's just missing that one element. It's a shame, because he's a warrior. He's got grit and he plays the game tough, the way it should be played. Still, he plays a necessary role for this team. We all know this is a transitional season. Too many new components in the organization top to bottom. Too many losses during the off-season. So we needed the QB that would best put us in the position to compete well and win. And we all know that the future QB starts next year. So he's also bridging the offense to the future. This year, especially the trials experienced, is going to be extremely valuable. Next year, Brennan walks into a situation where he has some valuable game experience surrounded by some young players who have a full season under their belts. And you know what Aranda is going to bring to the table. As long as we can land some key recruits, especially some big bodies for the lines ... I think the future looks real bright.
Hester is pretty real and I would call him a warrior. But I agree etling has reached his ceiling. Love the leadership and grit but the inability to take check downs hurt last night.
I don't think LSU should have dropped from the top 25 though. I think 20 is about where they are right now.
Unranked in the AP, 25 in the Coaches. The other 6-3 teams have a better resume than LSU. No losses to mid majors.
