He has Arizona State making the playoffs. That would be incorrect. Already. Why should anybody believe the other 3?
Really? Kirk Herbstreit does a pre-season prediction segment to which, half is already in the garbage…to which you post as evidence of promise AFTER half of it is in the landfill. Someone disagrees with its contributing merits and YOU wanna call out minions?? I have personally given you a ton of slack over behavior driven rants because there are times when you do demonstrate a valid point. In this case, you are behaving exactly like that of which you have been accused. LSU can either play to expectations or look like shit when they are not expected to, that all amounts to “I will believe it when I see it”. Right not, LSU is not a national contender for the playoffs and shall remain that way until further notice. There is far more to fix than just a few simple adjustments. Folks wanna say that penalties can be fixed, well I disagree. Our recent history of playing undisciplined ball indicates otherwise. We had one of the better special teams units in the country for years running and now we have a shit show. We have youth everywhere that must step up to be competitive on the national landscape. Depth is thin. LB’s are slightly better than last year which, isn’t anything to brag about. Playoffs, really PLAYOFFS? Without delivering any insults, I’ll simply dismiss everything you have to say hereon.
To play devil's advocate, which teams (in your opinion) are better without some considerable hurdles to get over before the playoffs?
I really do not know how good we are right now. I do not believe we have played any worthy team yet. So picking the playoff teams today is futile.
The hell, they ain't. Everybody is a contender until they start losing. LSU is a contender with a bullet.
You’ll notice I said right now. You really think LSU is a top 4 team based on performance to date? I certainly do not think so. I believe the potential exist, but a lot must improve to materialize that potential to a top 4 team. To get to a top 4 position, we have the majority of the schedule remaining to even be considered. We have yet to prove we can beat Old Piss, aTm, hawgs is always a threat and even florida is playing competitive ball. Gumps can be more of a trap game than anything else. I certainly do not think they have lost their last game and I do believe we have the potential to beat them. As it stands right now, my top 4 are Old Piss, Sparty, Domers and UCLA with LSU on the outside looking in. Right now, I don’t think we can beat any of those top 4. I do however, believe things can change and for the better. How much better remains to be seen.
