Burrow - excellent game Fields - underwhelming game Hurts - huge turnovers again keep the opponent in the game Herbert - total disaster The odds makers are going to widen what is already an insurmountable lead for Burrow after this weekend. Chase is now the clear runner up. But he has no shot.
Yeah, Hebert had a disastrous 4th Q for the Ducks. The fat lady is warming up. I can actually hardly believe it after all this time. I’ve never actually seen a Heisman winner at LSU! Incredible
I vaguely remember watching grainy black & white film of Billy Cannon on the coach's show that aired in Lake Charles the week after the game. I don't recall if any games other than the bowl game were televised back then.
Says Charles Woodson over Manning. Don't underestimate the media's influence over voting for this popularity contest. Clearly Burrow should win it. But when the announcers for the OSU game being watched by millions keeps saying over and over, CY is the "best player in college football", "he should win the Heisman", it's influential. Hopefully, that fades, and the right player is standing on the podium. Another negative for JB, is the smear campaign has begun, too. Someone dug up old tweets of his and are trying to paint him in a negative light heading into the Heisman voting. It's not a done deal yet, amigo.
Yeah he was a special teams player that scored on a couple of returns and caught a few passes as well on offense. Not the same situation here. And Chase was not allowed to play for a couple of games.
It's never too early to contemplate if LSU's system could potentially have back to back Heisman winners like Chokelahoma did with Mayfield and Murray: #BrennanforHeisman (2020)
Don't forget Jerry Stovall (the best all around player at the time) lost out to Terry Baker who hasn't been heard of since.
