This health bill will not stand unless Roe vs Wade is overturned.
If a woman has the right to privacy when it comes to her medical care and an abortion then so does everyone else.

might as well put this here, not sure where to put it. but the article mentions controlling the costs of health care. i am dealing with that now. and even though i have excellent insurance, there are still co-pays here and there, and it amazes me how "nickle and diming" to death adds up when it comes to health care costs.

most of my outpatient surgery from jan is covered, but in the hospital bill, medical equipment and meds have a co-pay of 20%. ive spent a lot of time of the phone the last couple of days getting a breakdown on some bills just so i know what im paying. (i love how providers bill now, just a date of service, how much insurance paid, and what you owe, with no itemization of the specifics so you dont know how obscene costs are.) anyway, on the hospital bill, i was surprised it was so much. till i found out that the screw placed in my shoulder was almost $2,000. for just the freaking screw! not to put it in, just the damned screw. hell, if i had known that would be needed, i would have just run by lowe's on the way and picked one up! woulda saved a lot of money! (/sarcasm)

until rising costs are addressed, nothing is gonna work. that is what needed to be addressed in health care. not all this falderal we got in health care "reform".

This is exactly right. You should challenge EVERYTHING on a health care bill.

My mom had several thousand bucks worth of stuff in her last two weeks of her life. She broke her pelvis and willed herself to death (she was a control freak and was unwilling to be out of control for the 8 weeks of rehab).

In reviewing her bills, I found $2000 for a shoulder and another $2500+ for some visit that could not have happened. Both providers thanked me profusely for finding the billing errors. I called BS. They figured they could bill an 83 year old woman and she would not know it.

I cannot believe the screw and I would appeal that charge.

    Let me clarify.....

My portion was not 2k but even as a total on the screw, that is obscene!

You would have to be delusional to think the government could do any better running health care over the private sector.
Remember the three hundred dollar toilet and the 200.000 dollar Fema trailers?
I don't know if that is the exact price for Fema trailers, I did a quick google search.

The point is anytime you don't pay for something yourself and it goes through a third party things are going to cost more, how many hands will touch government money?
The best solution would be some kind of way for you to save money in an account and pay your medical bills out of that account.
I have just started thinking about this, I am not sure how you could handle those that get medical from the government because of age and disabilities but I think we almost had the perfect system until Obama and the Dems ruined it.
I am NOT saying we don't need reform but this aint it!

Matter of fact our priorites are screwed up.
You can't have any kind of legislation that is good for the country until you get political reform.
There are too much influence and payoffs from lobbyists to do what is necessary to fix any other kind of reform.
For instance a health bill with no tort reform?
Just an example, I am not saying the Republicans don't have their issues either!
