Their own way of stimulating the economy... recession proof.

If memory serves, no seat belt = $25
    expired inspection sticker = $75

    No brainer...:hihi:

Inspection sticker... around here they are called brake tags. Either way, they are never checked along with emissions. The process of getting one involves a $20, $10 for tag and a $10 for the guy checking. Limo tinted windows... no problem. No cats.... mufflers are good enough. My Jeep's expired in 07. My explorer's is about to turn a year expired. I have freinds with some '03/'04 ones.

The problem around here are all the traffic cameras. I got two tickets so far at $135 each plus the $4 service fee to pay with a credit card. Orleans Parish just hired a collection agency to go after unpaid parking tickets. That phone call cost me $580!

My experience with BR traffic court was positive. School zone speeding and no seatbelt. Go to court, the ADA lined us up, I was 5th. The first 3 people were very thuggish and argued with this attorney who seemed to be a complete a-hole. He changed his tune with the cute LSU girl in front of me, "Yes ma'am... sorry for the incovenience..." I gave the poor college student routine and got out of there with just the $25 seatbelt fine.

Not in a long time. It's more like $185 now in some parishes.

I will let you know for sure. I ran into a road block at 9 am yesterday. Old Perkins near bluff road. 4 state troopers just standing in the middle of the road pulling us over.

Talked to the guy for 15 minutes about hunting and everybody we know in common. No way he was going to write me, then he said i will be right back with your ticket.

Call me crazy, but I find if I don't speed, have all my paperwork in order, and wear a seatbelt, I don't get tickets.. :yelwink2:
