I could see a "regression" of say like Les was to finish 7-5 this year followed by like a 4-8 year, yep, thats what I'd call it. But I'd like to base something on more than just one year or so. Maybe its just me?
I agree with your numbers and all, but have you ever thought that there are other coaches out there that could be just as successful recruiting in state and would be just as successful if not more successful with all this talent? I am by no means saying I want CLM to go, I am clearly just saying that I do not believe he is all that is LSU. There are other contributors to this stat.
This is true, she bumped into Jon Grudens wife while looking. Both of them looking for houses, who would have known?
I agree. But, I think the chances of finding that person(s) are uncertain at best, and I'd just as soon not take the chance. There are too many schools who were on top, lost their coach for whatever reason, and were in the wilderness for the next decade. Again, Nebraska comes to mind. Frank Solich had a career record of 76% wins. AD said that wasn't good enough and fired him. Nebraska has NEVER won 75% of its games since then (2003). I'll take the devil I know.
Agree BP, too many have missed. Doesn't take long to look back a few years, how the mighty have fallen. Seen it too many times, the odds are against you.
You were looking for some names, here are some names: Gary Patterson Mike Hudspeth Dabo Swinney Mike Leach Todd Graham
We kicked Patterson's ass last year, and TCU proceeded to have a really shitty season. This year, they are doing well again, though. Something that the minions feel will not happen under Miles (who is not having as shitty of a season as TCU did a year ago.) Swinney? Why? Leach? Are you freaking kidding me? An "offensive genius" who can rack up 750 yards of offense in a game--and still lose. How is that even possible?
