Different style my man, 1 is a quarterback the other is a running back playing qb. I've said it from the jump I hate dual threat qb's. I can't stand having a running back playing qb.
Yep, Rivers, the guy that can't get the starting job at Vandy, I said Vandy. Rettig came in out of shape, this was well know, didn't want to put in the time. You have to learn the offense, study film, etc. Ask Mett the hrs he put in last year? Look at where he is now. People think where ever a kid transfers, that team just quit recruiting QB's. A player can just walk in and be given the job. Its not that easy. Like I said before, you can count on one hand, one finger the kids that have transferred from LSU. Craig Nall, thats it. The grass always looks greener, but remember, manure adds to the dark green color. Some don't see this till its too late.
Ok, guess we can go back a few years. Stovall sign Stan in 1983 out of Shreveport. An that makes two. I remember LSU had a QB that passed on LSU because we wanted to sign two QB that year. This kid signed with Ole Miss, finished up playing TE after being moved from the QB position. Lane was his name. Back to Stan, he never showed up on a roster, can't remember too much on what went on back then. Kind of like in 1979, Mac's last signing class, he signed a guy out of Larose named Edward Orgeron, he was at LSU for a couple days.
Be careful what you wish for. Patterson also plays in a pure spread and will have to make the transition to a more pro-style, under center, LES MILES offense. That's not easy to do. We've already got two read-option guys trying develop into pro-style players. And obviously QBs from that Evangel/Calvary bloodline have been setting the world on fire...
Well I guess it's all how you define "regression". Based on how they finish the season.......SEC West, SEC, SEC Title game, BCS game, National Championships they have regressed. Winning games is one thing, winning championships is totally different. If you are satisfied with "statistical victories", so be it. We have had our asses stomped twice this season and we are only half way done.........I don't think our "ass" has been kicked for the last time.........once again, ass kickings in Tiger Stadium, at night, are regression.
