The main event did suck. I was looking for the Pavlik fight more than the Taylor fight. Miranda was talking **** in the weeks leading up to the fight. A poll taken on Eastside Boxing forums had Miranda by 61% to KO Kelly. :grin:
Made it that much more enjoyable to see the referee allow the fight to continue longer than it should have. Did you see how he could barely walk when the ref was taking him to his corner for a new mouth piece?
Indeed. Too many fights are stopped early today. Good to have a ref that recognizes these guys are prizefighters. If a boxer dies in the ring or right after the fight where he was pummeled, most refs don't want that burden. IMO a ref that stops fights early routinely robs both fighters and fans.
Refs didn't have the chance to stop this fight early. Look at Spinks' eyes as he lays there on the mat. Really a shame that Mike Tyson's boxing career and life have just fallen apart.
