a bit hyperbolic in my opinion (can ts even hold 95k?) and i guarantee you that the entire stadium will not be booing a college athlete. you have your *******s that will "boo" no matter what, but the majority have more class than that. but fwiw, i don't think that bothers the players too much. 95% of the time they will be cheering for you.
That's a fair point, but the problem there is the LSU fans booing a redshirt freshman, who the coaches decided was our BEST PLAYER at that position after RP left and Hatch the sophomore proved inadequate, and JJ was a true frosh and not ready early in the season. That's bad on the LSU fans. The kid was in a tough situation and nobody else was ready to go until JJ got 7 weeks into the season. The fans should be ashamed of themselves on that one, one of Tiger Stadiums lowest moments, IMO.
It was ugly, but have to believe that lives on the mind of J-Lee....especially in the La tech game last year. Questions for both of these 2 J-Lee: Are you ready for another shot to shut us up and prove us wrong? Can you shake that? Can you run & lead this team & these fans? Jefferson: Are you afraid that you are not living up to the expectations and is that distracting you from trying to progress? Do you fear being in the position J-Lee was 2 years ago? There is a problem some where....we have to find it and fix it These are SEC - LSU Starting Quarterbacks!!!! Do you know how many kids across the nation would kill to be in there shoes for God Sake. Atleast I would Hope
I think that some people are going to ascribe motives to the high school recruits that fit their agenda. In the case of fans ascribing motives, I think it is out of their hatred for Miles. (ex) " No first rate recruit is going to come to LSU as long as Miles is our head coach. More likely, it's not the fans...rather it's opposing recruiters...out of their fear of LSU. (ex) "Are you seriously considering going to commit to a team that is number 112 in total offense in college football?" but... ...What they really think deep down inside is "If this kid goes to LSU with all their offensive talent, we're gonna be in deep doo doo for a long time." I don't think that either the fans or the opposing recruiters have much sway with top flight QB recruits because they are aware of a great opportunity here at LSU (need for a quarterback)...and secondly, they all think that they are the greatest prospects in the world. They seem to think they're bullet proof and can come in and start right away. They seem to all be looking for early playing time. I bet we get one top flight QB who committed elsewhere to change his commitment before NSD.
jlee was robbed of his football virginity and thrown to the lions in the roman colosseum that is tiger stadium. it ruined him as expected. he was no more mentally ready than jrussell was to lead an NFL team. has he shaken that mental block he has when under pressure? if la tech is any indication, hes not even close. and his career as a football player may be over. or has he progressed from last year? no one knows til hes back under center and under the lights. i dont think we will ever find out however. les is going to ride jj into the sunset or off a cliff.
So my question is do we go out and scalp a stud QB from another SEC team who is waiting behind several people for his chance to play? If so who?? It would make me smile to steal away a stud QB from the gumps for example.
I have never seen a college QB booed. Don't even remember it happening to Jamie Howard or Josh Booty. Not in our stadium or any other that I have attended. I would say that is a new low water mark for our fans.
