Do you think that since the rough exit of RP, and the sh!t that has rained down on J-Lee (poor little Andrew Hatch :rolleye33:) & JJ has scared off QB's coming out of highschool.

The pressue put on an LSU football player to be great is tons of weight in itself.....thats just at a role playing position.

BUT The pressue put on a QB to carry this or any team that walks the tunnle here to the promise land.................is a scary place to be for ANY youngster

    Just a thought.....Just a thought

There is going to be a lot of pressure put on the QB at any top program. I would think the lack of QB depth at LSU would be enticing for top highschool QBs. All the pieces are in place to step in and be successful.

i think if we fail to develop an offensive identity for the 3rd year in a row, it could hurt us recruiting every offensive skill position to some extent.

these guys want to go somewhere they can put up numbers and be noticed.

    we're doing the opposite.

the coaching staff has zero confidence in the qb and its not getting any better.

I think it had more to do with a really nice baseball contract

I think it depends upon the player really. If you have a young player that is extremely confident in himself and what he can do on the football field than i don't think that would affect him at all. Now if you have another guy who maybe isn't as confident in his abilities as he should be, than he might opt to look somewhere else to avoid the scrutiny of coming into a situation where many people are expecting you to be the big turn around at that position.

well, tirk beat me to it. i follow patterson football a decent bit, and there is already grumbling from guys like kenny hilliard about LSU's lack of offensive identity. most of it is probably coming their slime-ball head coach, but still. i have zero confidence in gary crowton. i'm getting close to the same with miles, although when CLM calls the plays (AU and fourth quarter against vandy,) i like what i see. miles just needs to get rid of crowton before he sinks the ship.

So its kind of the chicken or the egg scenario.......We as fans expect so much out of our players it puts so much pressure on them to perform, they lose the slightest bit of confidence and if anybody with an athletic back ground knows, when you lose confidence, its over! Then they under perform and the fear of repeating their poor performance affects the way they play next weak in a negative way?

J-Lee for example, Lights Out in HS, plays extremely well in practice, but buckles under the big lights in front of 95k screaming fans!

But as mentioned above......The word confidence is hitting the nail on the head!

But, then there is always the high school athletes who do not want to play in our current offensive system – which is flat, basic, and boring?????

Do you want to win championships or run wild in the ACC

    I don’t know…..

Fair thesis, but I don't think the fans have run off any high school QB's.

We attracted Chris Garrett, 4* QB, and things didn't work out for whatever reason. JJ and JL were both 4* and had to face tough situations when RP left. ZL was a great sign, but 5.25 million to play baseball for 5 years is too much to turn down, it takes a college injury off the table as limiting your income.

We signed quality guys the last couple of years, and it just hasn't worked out.

Especially now, LSU! should be very attractive, the cupboard will be bare in 2 years.

Crowton has not put up a good offense the last couple of years, but he was forced to play redshirt frosh or the equivalent thereof the last 2 years. With a good Sr. QB in Flynn he won the national championship with a crackerjack offense.

To an extent, we are victims of bad luck with ZL. Garrett looks like a bad evaluation of a kid, which is on the coaches, but you will win some and lose some.

When a kid looks at everything we have at , this situation is very attractive, IMO.

    Well said & Fair enough!

But what about the possibility of having a bad outing and being ran off the field in death valley listening to 95,000 fans boo and scream for your head.

A solid QB would want another shot to come back out next weekend and prove himself. As mentioned before...the #2 QB is the most popular player on the team, as JJ was when J-Lee was Mr. Pick Six & how J-Lee has become this week.

Does either of them have the balls to come back into Tiger Stadium and get the job done?

Is it the confidence lost in these 2 that have turned them from 4* recruits to the death of our season and title hopes? (THIS IS NOT MY OPINION)
