I have a close friend who is an OU fan, and we are all the same.
They want to run Stoops out on a rail.

Ironically we are no different than other fan bases.
I think the difference with us is that we expect a bit much and go crazy when they lose a game. Like that is never supposed to happen (Like OU fans) we have tasted the fruit and anything less gets us in a tizzy.

We are not a pragmatic bunch.
"LSU won, but they didnt dominate, didnt use our talent. Fire the coach"

The talent argument always gets me. Les isnt using the Talent. Well maybe that Talent isnt as talented as we thought, and maybe Les is using them pretty well. Texas is a perfect example. They have the #1 or #2 recruiting class for the last several years. And they are horrible.
Which means try not to put SO much stock in the number of stars. Shepard I think is proving that out a bit. yeh he is good, but maybe JUST maybe he isnt all what some nerd with a computer cracked him up to me. Good player yes, Great player not yet.
    Case in point
Jacob Hester - 2 Star recruit.
Ridley - Didnt anyone track his recruiting and say MAN THAT WAS a huge get.

Nope, and he like Hester is the heartbeat of the offense.

Lastly we also seem to forget sometimes the other side has players to, and watches film, and recruits and has talent. LSU will lose again, maybe even this year (Arkansas makes me REALLY nervous) lets try not to over react and knee jerk.
But heck this is a message board its meant for that.

Apparently, at least one NC fan had gotten a little too much ribbing. As we were leaving the Ga Dome, I was holding the door from the stairs to the parking garage as he and his wfe/girlfriend walked through. He said that I was "the most considerate LSU fan he had met that day." Apparently, he wasn't too impressed with Tiger fans.

Of course, he didn't know that I was only holding it for my wife, who was walking behind him.

I didn't see any adult misconduct during the game, however I was on the east side and there was a group of High school kids about 5 rows below me that were chunking ice at the Bama bench, never could pick out who it was, the Troopers were eyeballing all of us after the first baseball sized chunk of ice went flying! (right after Bama's 1st TD)

LSU fans very gracious to VT visitors in 2007

I was in the company of two heavily decked-out Hokie fans at VT's first game after the slaughter on their campus. As far as anyone knew, I was a third Hokie fan.

The LSU fans were, through-out the day, universally gracious hosts, well-mannered and helpful. Example: one of my friends, having just bought a new radio, opened out this huge sheet of instructions. An LSU fan, taking this to be a map, went out of his way to come over & ask if he could help us find where we needed to go. This was proactive hospitality, good manners at its very best. Based on his example, I make it a point nowadays to welcome opposing fans to DV, and wish them a good game, win or lose.

This 48-7 victory over VT was one of the most convincing & satisfying wins I've ever attended. Despite this, a drunken lout accosted us as we left the stadium, crowing about how LSU had whipped VT's behind. I was truly embarrassed, not least because the offensive individual was a distant relative of mine. My two VT friends, as gracious guests, reassured me that they recognized that there was no situation that could not be made worse by the application of alcohol to an appropriately qualified individual.

You may recall that we just beat out VT out of the NC game that year, on the back of that early win.

So I'm reading through this thread thinking about our wonderful stadium, reflecting on some of the games mentioned, and I look at the bottom where the tags are... and it says:

    "Civility, fans, urine."

Some opposing fans would swear that's our official motto..
