Did you notice he had to look at his wrist for THE FIRST PLAY after they kicked off to us? I said, "LAWDDD!"
I was pretty pissy screaming into the phone with my parents when the clock showed zero. It took all of us a minute to figure out we were actually doing to get another play. Reminded me of a similar conversation as Rich Brooks was being doused with Gatorade in 2002--as much for naught as Dooley's ride on the shoulders of his "victors" @ the end of this contest. I'm sure we'll laugh about this. Someday.
My feelings exactly, SabanFan. I'm finally starting to see that the coaching may be the biggest weakness for the Tigers. And I am sad to admit that. I still think CLM is a fine, fine man and human being. But maybe he HAS risen to his level of incompetence. I hope not, but it feels that way. :geaux:
This. I was livid when Lee, who was clicking and driving his team downfield, got pulled in favor of JJ once we had a 1st and goal. Here is the difference that I think. On the last play, Lee would have had the presence of mind to line his team up, spike the ball, THEN look to the sideline for the next play. Contrast that with Jefferson looking cluelessly toward the sideline with a "what do I do now" look. Crucify me if you will, but that is how I see it. Beyond that, I got nuttin.
