Like I said, JJ isnt the problem. JJ is forced to throw 2-3 or 5-8 yrd passes. If you watch hard enough you can tell. Its the way they coach him Its why he looks to the sideline. Hes 19. LSU is molding JJ into this. You can easily see the plays that are designed to be long. Just watch the WR's block. Most block down field when its a short pass. which is 90% of the time. JJ has 2 targets max each play. Look else where.
The defense held Florida to 13 pts. Who else has done that? Though I'd rather have stopped them deep in their territory. Offense needs work but I'm ok with our performance. We'll improve.
I assure you the coaches are looking at his progression every game and know what's wrong. They know he's dropping back too far and they know he holds on to the ball too much. Problem is with a young QB, you can coach him as long as you can, when the game comes along they tend to panic and revert to their old habits. Lee deserved a shot. He has proven that he can run the offense and actually give LSU a passing offense. Forget last year because he has done nothing this year to warrant not giving him a chance. He may not be as agile but having good pocket presence and a quick release is what we need in a QB right now. Lee gives us the closest option to that. I still think Jefferson should start but he needs to be showing some improvement soon.
There is now much win in a thread that might have otherwise been 100% fail. Thank you for the distraction. :thumb:
Either way, Miles wont put Lee in until the second to last game this year. My vote, if anything would be to give Shepard the PT>
I just read this on another board and just about lost it so I cannot take credit for it. "QB looks like a doe in the headlights and makes decisions as fast as a 1960s computer."
