I live in North Texas (DFW) and the only gripes I get are from Aggie and Longhorn fans that we are starting to take some of their good in-state recruits. The Aggie fans seem to be more bitter asn the really are struggling and we are an easy target..... I am ALWAYS in Tiger Gear and the only comments I get are... Yes. They also think they invented football or something. Besides, LSU is becoming more "hated" in the South because it's going into rival territory and recruiting with success. How many important Texas, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, etc. recruits have committed to LSU in the last several years? Several, and as long as it keeps happening, LSU will rise on the hate list down here. USC hates us because they're just stupid ('03 was ours).
I was born and raised in Louisiana;however, I live in Orlando, FL. I must say that we are respected and hated in Florida. I believe Florida fans respect us but Miami fans hate us (40-3 Peach Bowl). I have a buddy who is a Miami fans and he hates LSU with a passion. We send each other about twenty text messages per day. He always talks about how much the canes fan hate LSU and he can't wait for our program to go down. I just laugh at him and tell him to "stick yoself fool."
The teams on the top are loved and hated by many. That is just the way it is. LSU and USC have had a great decade and therefore we are hated. It is much better to be hated than ignored.
