I ask this question b/c of a unique experience i had this weekend. I live in central Texas but I was born and raised 5 min from LSU campus so i bleed purple and gold! Of course I have my office draped in purple and gold. Several people in my office went out of there way to come and tell me the gators was going to beat the Tigers ass! A co worker from S.C. text me all weekend! I had three co workers who took a trip to auburn country this weekend, of the the three one went to auburn, one from texas and the other actually played basketball for arkasas (yes if feel sorry for him too). Instead of the arkansas fan talking crap to the auburn fan for getting their first liget win and the texas fan taking time to be happy they finally beat OU and have a shot at being #1, guess what they decided to to? Yep call the good ole LSU guy and talk crap about the gators! Now I would go out of my way to talk crap about USC but with good reason, those overrated bastards move up in the rankings everytime their first team beats their second team in practice! I'm wondering does anyone else feel the LSU hate that I do? Is LSU moving up the hate latter!:LSU231:
No offense everyone but try being an tOSU fan then maybe you'll understand people hating you for no other reason than what collage football team you like. And to save someone the trouble we know we have gotten blown out our last 3 big games and we are to slow to play football.
Dang! beat me there  Most people like LSU in the country, LSU hasn't really done anything to piss off anyone. But if players keep trash talking like Ricky Jean, then maybe that perception may change. USC has the recruiting issues, the glamor, and media love for reasons why most college football fans across the country would hate them. OSU has that cockiness from the fans (the Ohio State U? huh?) The same for Michigan ("we have the most wins in history!" but history can't get them a win against toledo) But yeah, I would agree that LSU is moving up the hate ladder. It comes with winning. That's one thing all these schools have, a tradition of winning, but LSU's winning is coming now so we will probably see a change in our perception now.
I live in Oklahoma City and work in Norman Oklahoma. People here hate LSU for 2 reasons. Les Miles as the former OSU coach and the crazy things he used to say, and the 2003 National Championship and the way they claim we treated them in New Orleans. I don't get too mamy complaints about the loss but they swear there 90 year old wheel chair bound grandmothers were unrespectfully treated by every drunken LSU fan (to them all LSU fans are drunk and obnoxious).
yes, ou fans still have their panties wadded over les. but mark my words, when you corner and push ou fans on how they were treated disrespectfully, it turns out they were tiger baited. yes, they are still insulted over a taunt. i have yet to hear any first hand horror stories. the majority of ou fans couldnt handle a taunt, and got in a snit which just made the taunts worse. but i have met some that say they laughed off being tiger baited and they were invited to join in on the food and drink at tailgates and had a great time.
I wouldn't necessarily say that we're hated in other areas. It's more like we're RELEVANT. When I moved to Texas 11 years ago, no one up here could've given a second thought to LSU. Now, when they "act" like they don't like us, there is grudging respect there, and many people I meet say they are LSU fans.
Of course people in TX hate LSU. Border envy. I am in Denver, and I travel quite a bit with my LSU gear, and I get a lot of compliments.
Sure, why not? LSU has owned the South from Texas to Florida most years this decade, save for the UT championship year. Take it as a compliment. LSU has won a lot of big games over many years this decade. Not only did we finally lose one, but we got crushed. Lot's of people in the region have been waiting a long time for this. Good for them, we waited a long time for our 2nd MNC. Our reward was better than their reward. :thumb:
my brother went to USC and its a great school great coach and it has had great players, id like the thought of them if they werent so cocky and sucked up to by the media, and anyways if it were such a great school I would be a USC fan and not sucked in by the might of mike :hihi:
