I wish i could agree with you. Im sorry, i cant. This kid hasnt played well all season. Again, I have been keeping my eye on him since the McNeese game, because a friend of mine told me about his play style. He is truly terribad!
You don't have to agree with me but you aren't the only one keeping an eye on him. He rarely got beat for TDs for a majority of the season and had more tackles solo and assisted than Brandon Taylor. Only had 2 fewer TFL and Pass Breakups. Not saying Hatcher was the man or anything but it seems like the last two games are being used to judge the whole season. I don't think it is a coincidence that Hatcher played his 2 worst games when Taylor was out with injury and Taylor played his worst game when Hatcher was out during the NC game. I suspect he has been nicked up or aggrevated his early season injury the last half of the season but the staff kept him out there because he was the coach on the field for the DBs. Probably should have turned it over to Loston or given Reid some extra playing time IMO.
Thats one of the things that pisses me off the most with Miles. He play you no matter how poorly you play. Perfect example right here. Brooks has played well when in the game. Reid shows a lot of flashes, needs more consistency but is young. Loston shows promise as well. Ill say this though, no way in hell can anyone blame Hatcher for the loss. It was a pathetic game from both lines, QB, tackling, and coaching.
Hatcher can blow people up, even his own teammates, but it was obvious after SCam Newton made him look like a chump that he takes poor angles. If it isn't head up, he isn't getting you. Eric Reid has shown that he can play the position. Karnell Hatcher hasn't. Who would have thought that the loss of Brandon Taylor would be the biggest loss of the season.
He wasn't that bad before the Auburn game because he didn't see significant playing time. When he did, it was obvious he was by far the weakest link on defense.
I hear he is SEC Defensive player of the week for LSU, for the many tackles he made. He also was SEC Offensive player of the week for R-kansas, for the.......well........you know.
I wonder if they counted the Claiborne tackle and the tackle of the 3 people on the sideline when he whiffed on the first long ass touchdown.
You guys are being really awful. Step back and examine yourselves for a minute. Who the hell do you think you are to accuse someone of point shaving? That's the most despicable and unfounded crap I've ever seen. It's equally tasteless to post stuff like this: Hatcher's been in the safety rotation since he was a true freshman. Now all of a sudden he has no talent whatsoever? He took a bad angle and made an incredibly stupid attempt at a big hit in the open field ... but he's a good player or he wouldn't be at LSU. And he damn sure wouldn't have been rotating in at safety since he was a true freshman if he had no ability. Don't judge him on one or two bad games. Like I said, he'll probably be moved to LB next year, but to call him "soft" or a "cheater" is unfair to the guy who has given more to LSU football than any message board post ever could.
