At least we'll finally figure out whether it was the QB's or Crowton. I'm hoping the fans were right, for once.

In the NFL you do not see them running their qb's on options like in college. Jefferson has been known as our running qb. In order for jj to be drafted he has to be able to throw the ball. Being an option qb will not get him drafted like being a pocket passer will. Look at cam. He ran all over teams all year but I don't hear him being considered the top draft prospect. Jj was effective as a running threat last year but if he can't be a consistant passer he will not be drafted. Qb's are not used as runners as much in the pros. There are the exceptions as in vick that would hurt a team with his running ability. Still I don't think jj can land a NFL job being only a running qb.

jj is not known as a running qb. hes known as a qb who can hardly throw. there's a difference.

but jason campbell is the best comparison. matt leinart, really?

campbell and jj are very similar in style their first 3 years. how jc exploded on the scene his sr year was something i expected 2 years prior. then he went on to be a first rounder. freaking biggest jump in the draft ive ever seen. from no way to being drafted as a qb to a first rounder and starting right away.

FWIW, I really think JJ can surprise us next year. Krag has done good things with QB's (given history has shown it is the 2nd year with him they see to develop) and JJ has for the first time some serious competition with Mett nipping on his heels. Couple that with the fact that this is the kids last year to show the pro scouts what he can do, should equal a hell of a season for the kid.

Now if he shows the same immaturity and make the same bad game time decisions that he has in the past, Mett or Lee will start by the heart of SEC play.

It's all or nothing time for JJ. I hope he far exceeds expectations and has a great year. I am thinking Krag will help develop his reads and also his throwing realese which IMO has to much of a wind up. These two things along with being in sync with the WRs will propel him to have great year. These goals are not to unrealistic and I believe he will improve in these areas praticing with Krag.
